Pink Lady 🍎 Saturday morning, hosted us Riverhouse for a beautiful winter gathering centred around creating, collaging and connecting. Coached and guided by the incredible

We kicked off with a Terry Guillemets quote, “The colour of springtime is in the flowers, the colour of winter is in the imagination” and it set the tone for what felt like a real privilege. Four hours completely screen free, slowing down to reflect on the year so far, using collage to explore how visuals make us feel rather than what we should create.

I was drawn to a snakes and ladders board for its colour and bold graphics but over time it revealed so much more. Corporate ladders, creative snakes, echoes of Italy, layers I didn’t expect. The real magic came from the room. Women willing to share openly and honestly, creating space for connection and self discovery in a way that stayed with me. A slow, thoughtful morning that felt exactly like Pink Lady, seasonal, intentional and quietly joyful. Life felt a little sweeter 🍎

Scroll right for a glimmer of what we experienced. I’ve mixed some video (sound on 🔊) with stills in a carousel, so don’t just scroll, listen.

“I want to go someplace that I can marvel at something…”
Because that first week back is always a bit of a shock. The unpacking, straight into meetings, dodging the reality of my bank account and swapping Italian summer sunshine for dark, wet winter mornings.
I was served this Eat Pray Love sound bite a week post-trip and had to edit a Reel as I’m really feeling how quickly it all becomes a memory. Missing that slower, more intentional Italian pace. This week was filled with daydreaming, scrolling the camera roll and somehow struggling through the usual routines. Tell me this isn’t just me being completely distracted the week after a trip?

Day 5. Fabulous Florence. 🇮🇹| Arrived with heat we could feel early, a 7am start, a flowy polka dot dress and my new Golden Goose sneakers getting their moment. This city before it wakes is quieter and feels like yours for a little while. We walked everywhere. First stop at Palazzo Vecchio, towering over the square. From there, we wandered to Ponte Vecchio, moving slowly past gold shops and vintage watch windows. If you know my husband, you’ll know how much joy this brought.
With no real plan, we stumbled into Forneria for lunch and landed the perfect window seat, a cool pause with a view to match. By afternoon, the heat shifted the rhythm, retreat, reset and back out again as the light softened.
We skipped the full Gucci Osteria moment but took a chance on aperitivo instead, another window seat, tasting our way through beers and watching the city move past.
A quick refresh at the hotel, then off to Trattoria ZaZa, and you were all right about this one. The queue stretched down the street but we somehow landed the perfect table inside at our reservation time. Skipped the famous T-bone and went for the tagliata, lighter, and so good. One of those meals you don’t rush. We walked out full, happy, already talking about going back, Florence at its best.

Florence. Day 4. 🇮🇹 | Started with a pastry fix before navigating the subway to Milano Centrale, then a two hour high speed train to Florence.
I loved capturing little moments of fashion at the station, something about departures always feels a bit cinematic. We arrived just after 2pm, checked into boutique hotel Hugo after a tram mission with luggage in tow, dropped our bags, and headed straight out to explore. I was last here 20 years ago on a Contiki with a bestie and my husband had never been, so we kept it open, wandering without a plan.
Florence in 34 degree heat hit us fast; busy, touristy, a little overwhelming. A few turns later, we stumbled upon the Rothko exhibition and everything shifted. Two hours, fully immersed in the audio tour, taking in the scale and stillness of his work. It took five years to curate this exhibition and you can feel that level of intention in every room. Such a gift.
We left on a high and walked straight into the largest store in Europe after two days of thinking about them, I finally got my pair.
We then headed down to the river for sunset, beaming. .it provide the perfect seat, a little cheers to new shoes. That soft Florentine light, the river, the romance - the kind of ending that quietly turns a travel day into something really special.

Magnificent Milan | Day 3 🇮🇹. Startef slowly, wandering the streets with no real plan before landing for lunch; burrata pizza, gelato and the kind of simple perfection that just works. Later, we adventured a little out of town to and it completely exceeded expectations. Tucked into this beautifully restored historic space, it feels like a hidden oasis where time softens and everything slows down. We booked the aperitivo session from 6, which turned into one of those unexpectedly perfect evenings — a drink in hand, light dinner in between dips and more than ten thermal pools to move between at your own pace. Loved the outdoor pools under the open sky, experience pools with jets and waterfalls, saunas and even a salt room that adds to that full-body reset feeling. We walked home with that light, happy kind of energy and hatching a plan on how we can squeeze in another visit before our departure.

Magnificent Milan | Day 2. An early start, walking shoes on and a mission to find good coffee. We landed and immediately decided it would have to be our local. Strong coffee, beautiful pastries and the kind of people watching you can settle into. Takeaway cup in hand, we wandered into Brera before the crowds arrived. Always my favourite way to experience a new city; slow, quiet and easy to take in. Cobbled streets, small boutiques and something worth photographing around every corner. It’s one of those neighbourhoods that doesn’t need much, it just unfolds as you walk.
Bosco Verticale was a highlight to see in real life, all that greenery layered onto this building and we spent some time in at BAM park nearby just sitting and soaking it all in. 20,000 steps later, we reset at home and I quickly realised I had completely underestimated the heat… cue a new Mango dress making its debut.
Back to Brera for lunch, Ristorante Pizzeria Il Kaimano, for caprese and lobster pasta, simple, classic and exactly what we felt like. We made our way to Navigli after, which, if I’m honest, wasn’t quite our scene but it gave us a moment to sit in the sun, rest our feet and take it slow before heading back. A stop followed and what a retail space. Tried on my dream pair, still thinking about them. The evening ended with an aperitivo - we booked this ahead . A stroll back via the Duomo, music drifting through the streets, one last photo and then home.
Full day, full heart.

Magnificent Milan | Day 1 🇮🇹
Arrived, settled in and headed straight out to explore.
First stop, the Duomo, all that marble and detail up close is something else. Then a wander through Piazza del Duomo, taking it all in. A bit of luxury browsing that led us into Rinascente for some retail therapy, which is just as good as everyone says. A few hours in, reality kicked in, swiped my shoes for new sneakers because Milan is best explored properly, on foot. Over 20,000 steps later and completely worth it.
We’re staying right opposite Castello Sforzesco, which feels quite special. Originally built in the 15th century, it’s been rebuilt and restored over time and today still anchors this part of the city in the most beautiful way. Watching it light up at 9pm felt like a moment.
We walked through to Parco Sempione for the evening, live music drifting through and found that easy, happy energy that comes with being somewhere new. Ended the day slowly, gelato in hand. I’m still processing the fashion, the Polizia and the height of everyone. Truly a city of very good-looking people.
More tomorrow ✨
