Die voortgesette verontagsaming van die Groter Oudtshoorn Munisipaliteit se vlak 6-waterbeperkings in De Rust en Dysselsdorp noop die munisipaliteit om die moontlikheid van beurtwater vir diรฉ twee gebiede ernstig te oorweeg.
Die Groter Oudtshoorn Munisipaliteit se direkteur: Tegniese Dienste en Infrastruktuur, mnr Justin Lesch, het vanoggend, Vrydag 19 Desember, โn ernstige waarskuwing gerig dat die munisipaliteit geen ander keuse sal hรช as om beurtwater toe te pas indien inwoners voortgaan om die streng waterbeperkings te ignoreer nie. โDie gemeenskap gee tans nie gehoor aan die ingestelde waterbeperkings nie. Waterverbruik sal drasties en onmiddellik verminder moet word om beurtwater te voorkom,โ het mnr Lesch gesรช.
Hy doen โn dringende beroep op inwoners om enige watergebruik wat buite die bepalings van vlak 6-waterbeperkings plaasvind, onmiddellik by die munisipale beheerkamer aan te meld by 044 203 3004.

โข Huishoudings se watergebruik is beperk tot hoogstens 50 liter per persoon per dag en mag nie meer as 6 kl per maand verbruik nie.

โข Die skoonmaak van geplaveide-, beton- of teeroppervlaktes en strukture met munisipale drinkwater is verbode.
โข Die gebruik van munisipale drinkwater vir enige konstruksie- of boudoeleindes (insluitend die skoonmaak van dakke met hoรซdruk-/laevolume-reinigers) is verbode.
โข Besproeiing van tuine met munisipale drinkwater is verbode.
โข Plantkwekerye en motorwasserye moet vooraf toestemming van die Tegniese Departement verkry om munisipale drinkwater vir besigheidsdoeleindes te gebruik. Alle aansoeke om toestemming moet vergesel word van โn volledige metodestaat wat aandui hoeveel water gebruik sal word en watter waterbesparingsmaatreรซls ingestel sal word, met verwysing na beste praktyke in die bedryf en waterherwinning. Noodwatertariewe sal van toepassing wees.
โข Die byvul of volmaak van alle (privaat en openbare) swembaddens met munisipale drinkwater is verbode.
โข Fonteine en waterkenmerke bly afgeskakel.
โข Besproeiing met water anders as drinkwater moet duidelik aan die voorkant van eiendomme aangedui word, byvoorbeeld: โBOORGATWATERโ.
โข Besproeiing van enige sportvelde, asook die natmaak van landbougrond, kampe, parke, grasperke en oop ruimtes met munisipale drinkwater is streng verbode.

The continued disregard of Level 6 water restrictions imposed by the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality in De Rust and Dysselsdorp has compelled the municipality to seriously consider the implementation of water shedding in these two areas.
The Greater Oudtshoorn Municipalityโs Director: Technical Services and Infrastructure, Mr Justin Lesch, issued a serious warning this morning, Friday 19 December, that the municipality will have no alternative but to implement water shedding should residents continue to ignore the strict water restrictions. (๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐)
โThe community is currently not adhering to the imposed water restrictions. Water consumption must be reduced drastically and immediately to prevent water shedding,โ said Mr Lesch.
He has made an urgent appeal to residents to immediately report any water usage that falls outside the provisions of Level 6 water restrictions to the municipal control room on 044 203 3004.
โThe municipalityโs law enforcement department will henceforth conduct more intensive routine visits and inspections, and applicable fines of R5 000 for non-compliance with the water restriction regulations will be issued where transgressions occur,โ Mr Lesch warned.

โข Household water usage is limited to a maximum of 50 litres per person per day and may not exceed 6 kilolitres per month.
โข Washing of vehicles using municipal drinking water is prohibited.
โข Cleaning of paved, concrete or tarred surfaces and structures with municipal drinking water is prohibited.
โข The use of municipal drinking water for any construction or building purposes, including the cleaning of roofs with high-pressure or low-volume cleaners, is prohibited.
โข Irrigation of gardens with municipal drinking water is prohibited.
โข Plant nurseries and motor wash businesses must obtain prior approval from the Technical Department to use municipal drinking water for business purposes. All applications must be accompanied by a comprehensive method statement indicating the volume of water to be used and the water-saving measures to be implemented, in accordance with industry best practices and water recycling principles. Emergency water tariffs will apply.
โข Topping up or filling of all private and public swimming pools with municipal drinking water is prohibited.
โข Fountains and water features remain shut down.
โข Irrigation using water other than drinking water must be clearly indicated at the front of properties where such irrigation takes place, for example: โBOREHOLE WATERโ.
โข Irrigation of any sports fields, as well as the watering of agricultural land, paddocks, parks, lawns and open spaces with municipal drinking water, is strictly prohibited.
Transgressions of the above restrictions may result in an immediate fine of R5 000.
