My sister took the blame for something I did.
A few years ago, money disappeared from my mother's house. I was the one who took it. I needed it badly, and I knew nobody would suspect me.
When my mother noticed the money was missing, she accused my younger sister.
She cried. She swore she didn't take it.
I knew she was innocent.
But I stayed quiet.
I watched my mother shout at her. I watched my father lose trust in her. I even watched my sister beg them to believe her.
And I said nothing.
Years passed, and everyone still believed she had stolen that money.
The thing is... I could have told the truth at any time.
I just never did.
Ndiyaziva ukuba le nto imbi kakhulu. I know what I did was wrong, but part of me is scared that if I confess now, I'll destroy my family all over again.
My sister still doesn't know the truth.
And sometimes when she looks at me, I feel like she knows.
Would you confess after all these years, or would you take the secret to your grave?
