CAPITAL CITY FC CLAIMS VICTORY AT KATLEGO MTHEMBU GAMES U/13 2025

The inaugural 4th Annual Katlego Mthembu Games U/13 (Re bapala mmoho) saw Capital City FC from Pretoria, clinch the title in a thrilling final match against Southdowns FC from Centurion at Tumahole sports ground,next to Fezile Dabi stadium,FS on 28 September 2025, Sunday.Bundle of joys games showcased a high level of skill and sportsmanship, with several nail-biting matches and incredible goals.

Coaches implemented a holistic development model, integrating technical drills, tactical sessions, and mental conditioning workshops. Players demonstrated significant improvement in areas such as decision-making under pressure and effective communication on the field. The tournament also served as a crucial platform for scouts to identify promising talent.

"This tournament has been an incredible opportunity for our young players to test their skills and learn from diverse competition,"said Katlego Mthembu, tournament organizer

The inaugural Katlego Mthembu Games U 13 proved to be a resounding success with 16 teams, setting a strong precedent for future events aimed at nurturing young soccer talent and strengthening the local community through the beautiful game.

IS NGWATHE WINNING WATER CRISIS BATTLE?

Ngwathe local municipality has, recently, reminded the community that the Parys water treatment works is still under refurbishment, and half of the plant is out of the operation , hence they were producing less quantity of water per day and unable to meet the required water demand for distribution"

Today,26 September 2025,The office of the Executive Mayor Cllr Victoria De beer-Mthombeni visited the ongoing water project in Koppies, Kwakwatsi to monitor the impact of the project. Briefly the project involved the supply and laying of a 160 mm diameter Class 16 pipeline covering a total distance of 1.97 kilometres.

Mayor Cllr Victoria emphasized that they will officially handing over the project soon after completion,and they have interacted with residents who expressed their happiness after some of them spent more than 20 years without water.

"We have talked to residents in Motsemotjha Section, Seabi Street and Raboroko Street requesting them to be patient while the team will also be fixing bursts pipe because pipes are receiving water now." said Executive Mayor Cllr Victoria

In Tumahole, Mandela section, the borehole project being piloted has already ensured 'metsi pompong' for residents.

"We have made a commitment to solve water challenges in all towns making up Ngwathe Local Municipality and our achievements are visible." Mayor concluded

FAMILY ESCAPES DEVASTATING HOUSE FIRE IN MOKWALLO

A family in Mokwallo Mandela Section,Free State ,narrowly escaped tragedy in the early hours of Thursday, 4 September 2025, when a fire tore through their home, leaving it badly damaged and destroying most of their possessions.
Despite the extent of the blaze, no injuries were reported. The family managed to evacuate safely, though they were only able to save a handful of personal belongings. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mokwallo.
In the aftermath, the Paballo Phokojoe Foundation stepped in to provide immediate relief, including assistance with painting and the donation of electrical appliances.

Ward 14 Councillor Thabo Sothoane praised the outpouring of solidarity:
“I wish to extend my deepest appreciation to the entire community of Vredefort, the business community, and the church fraternity for standing together in support of the family during their time of tragedy. Your material, physical, and spiritual contributions have brought hope and comfort to the affected family. This compassionate response is a true reflection of the spirit of Ubuntu – that we are because of one another.”

While the loss of their home and belongings has left the family devastated, they remain grateful that their lives were spared. The road to recovery will be long, but the generosity of their neighbors has already begun to light the way forward.

NGWATHE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY ATTENDS DIRTY WATER COMPLAIN

Ngwathe Local Municipality has attended to a complain by residents in Tumahole after dirty water was seen dropping out of the tap in a residential area.

The Municipality immediately dispatched a technical team after noting a footage which was circulating earlier on today (Sunday, 09 September 2025) regarding poor water quality.

According to The communication unit, municipality appreciates feedback on service delivery hence the technical team was immediately dispatched to flush out the network to improve water quality and the subsequent footage in the same affected area, has shown improvement after the network was flushed out.

Municipal communication unit emphasized that the technical team noted the poor water quality was as a result of empty water distribution channels after the water purification plant was out of operation due to electricity interruption as per the previous public notice.

Residents are encouraged to share such feedback with the municipality as to improve on services rendered by the municipality to ensure rapid response.

TERRIBLE ACCIDENT N1 NEAR VANDERBIJLPARK

A multiple-vehicle accident on the N1 near Vanderbijlpark.Grass fires on the roadside combined with strong winds have created zero visibility conditions, leading to further collisions as approaching vehicles entered the scene, other cars also came from behind and formed part of the scene.

Emergency services have been alerted and traffic is heavily backed up on the route. Motorists are urged to avoid the area, exercise extreme caution, and consider alternative roads until the scene is cleared.

Authorities are expected to provide updates on injuries and the extent of the damage.
Drivers are adviced to avoid the area and give way to emergency services.

NEW CARS FOR NGWATHE TRAFFIC OFFICERS

Ngwathe local municipality, in Free State, unveiled 2 municipal traffic vehicles that will be used for public safety and law enforcement objectives.
Executive Mayor Cllr Victoria De beer-Mthombeni highlighted that Ngwathe's Traffic Department ceased operations in August 2016.

"Since taking office, we have prioritized its re-establishment as a means of generating revenue for the Municipality, as stated at our inception. The recent delivery of official vehicles for the Department in September 2025 marks the fulfillment of our budget speech promises" said Executive Mayor Cllr Victoria

"We will reinforce with our counterparts in Provincial Traffic and SAPS to enforce the law without any fear."said MMC for Public Safety Cllr Noma Moloi

Municipal Manager Dr F.P Mothamaha made it clear that the process is a foundation phase for the municipal traffic development plans which is part of revenue enhancement strategy as traffic department will also help to improve revenue that will be used to develop the infrastructure

Former Ngwathe Executive Mayor Moeketsi Moshodi returns to ANC after joining ACT,Ace Magashule's party, in March 2024.Moshodi also served as Mayor of Fezile Dabi District municipality, ANC REC and PEC respectively

Moshodi sent his resignation letter on 3rd of September 2025,to ACT regional secretary Cde Mazibuko,emphasizing that he took the decision to leave the ANC hoping that they could forge a new political path that advanced the ideals of their struggle

"The ANC, with all its shortcomings and imperfections, remains the only credible vehicle to advance the struggle for a united, democratic, non-racial, non-sexist, and prosperous South Africa. To break its hegemony is, ultimately, to weaken the very cause for which countless lives have been sacrificed." Moshodi concluded

Mr Moshodi is not the only member who left ACT, subsequently prominent members such as Sam Poli has left and established UDF taking along with him a sizeable number of ACT [former] members. One of the gound forces by the name of Kao Mohomane in Kroonstad has also joined MKP with other members who left ACT.

Follow the removal of ANCYL Fezile Dabi spokesperson Mbulelo Mtshilibe,the acting secretary of ANCYL in Fezile Dabi , Tsietsi Mzangwa,responded to all questions in conversation with TThook up podcast and news journal.

Acting regional secretary of the ANCYL Fezile Dabi region,Mr Tsietsi Mzangwa emphasized that The ANCYL is not a one-man organization.Their fundamental objective as per our mission is the broader youth strata when we advance the interests of young people and not individual interests.

He added" We are not in the business of opposing ANC government agenda that seeks to advance and develop the youth. FEZILE DABI ANCYL SPOKESPERSON SACKED!!!

African National Congress Youth League in Fezile Dabi decided to remove their spokesperson Mbulelo Mtshilibe.

The office of the acting regional secretary emphasized that they remain firm that young people must not only be beneficiary of change but also the drivers and custodians of transformations.
It was alleged that the Spokesperson was not contributing positively to the unity of the ANC YL in Fezile Dabi Region and accused of divisive tendencies.
