With the official dates for payments now out, Sassa has requested beneficiaries not to rush to collect on the first day, as funds will remain available in their accounts until needed.

Earlier, by 7am, a total of 42 babies had been delivered at public healthcare facilities, 25 girls and 17 boys. By mid-morning, the number had risen to 74, comprising 39 girls and 35 boys.
