The South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) has threatened to embark on strike action if Msunduzi Municipality fails to address a memorandum of grievances within seven working days.

The memorandum, delivered on Wednesday, raised long-standing concerns that the union says have persisted since 2009 and continue to affect both employees and the municipality’s operations.

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) will award an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in Management Sciences in Business Administration to renowned businessman Sipho Nkosi.
