Cape Town’s Ghost Squad was back in action this weekend 🚨

A street racer was chased down by the City’s unmarked traffic unit on Marine Drive after allegedly attempting to get away from officers. The pursuit was caught on camera and has since been circulating online.

A thief allegedly stole a phone and thought jumping into a taxi would be the perfect getaway… but the owner had other plans. 😳

The man chased after the taxi and managed to stop it, confronting the alleged thief over the stolen phone.

No bail for certain GBV suspects. Life sentences with no parole for those convicted of the most serious offences.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for tougher measures in the fight against gender-based violence, including opposing bail for suspects charged with r**e and murder of women and children.

But is this too harsh, or long overdue?

Strong gusts caught a woman off guard, sending her straight into a man before the two were knocked over. What started as a normal moment quickly turned into an unexpected tumble, with the Cape Town wind seemingly taking the role of matchmaker.

Cape Town taxis are going cashless 👀💳

The new system allows commuters to pay their taxi fare by scanning an approved payment card when they board. The scanner records the trip and processes the fare, with confirmation showing once the payment goes through.

No counting cash, no searching for change, and potentially less cash being carried inside taxis.

A female e-hailing driver was robbed while on the road, but despite the terrifying situation, she remained incredibly brave and calm.

Her composure during the incident is being praised, but the incident once again raises serious concerns about the safety of e-hailing drivers.
