A little cautionary tale from my desk… (well, actually from my physio’s table)
Over the past few months, a few people have said to me,
“Wow, you’re getting so much done!”
“How are you managing all of this?!”
And honestly… I was doing a lot.
Between launches, projects, building Custom GPTs, client calls, and content creation, it’s been full-on.
And with the help of AI, I could move faster than ever.
Which is amazing… until it’s not 🤣
Because while everything on the outside looked like major momentum, my body was waving some red flags 🚩
For months now, I’ve had this nagging pain in my neck and shoulder, as well as some slight tingling, always on the right side.
At first, I thought it was too much mountain biking.
Then I blamed my computer mouse.
Then I looked at my desk setup (my second screen is off to the right, and I’m constantly turning toward it).
But deep down, I knew it was all of it, as well as quite a few 12 & 13-hour days in front of the computer
But I kept pushing through.
A quick physio session here.
A few stretches there.
Then back to business as usual.
But after this last live launch?
It got worse. A lot worse.
I finally couldn’t ignore it anymore.
I’ve now seen the physio five times.
I’ve been to the chiropractor as well
And while I haven’t taken full-time off, I’ve definitely slowed things down, and that’s also why you haven’t heard as much from me lately.
Because yes, AI gives us the ability to do more, faster.
But that doesn’t mean we have to.
Sometimes doing a little less is exactly what we need to keep going long-term.
Just because you can push through, doesn’t mean you should.
Not at the cost of your body. Not at the cost of your health.
So if you’ve been feeling that internal tug, the one that says “just one more thing” while your body is begging for a break, this is your gentle nudge:
Listen to it.
It knows
And if you don't, it may just do it for you 😉
So for now I'll be concentrating on one project at a time and prioritising content that moves people forward the most.
I'm curious to know how many of you have similar stories of pushing too hard and then your body putting the brakes on...I'd love to hear them below 👇
