That's a wrap!

The 71st Lipton Challenge CUP concluded yesterday. 10 races sailed.

Our two favourite pix from the concluding days - thank you to Matthew du Toit for these images. HMYC - Henley Midmar Yacht Club and Point Yacht Club entries side-by-side showing off our sails in some gorgeous light - photographic and condition wise.

Congratulations to all the competitors who took to the water, and to Hermanus Yacht Club for being crowned champion for the third time in the history of the Lipton Cup.

Day two of the Lipton Cup.

Some nice pix of the two challengers sporting UK Sails in this regatta.

Currently Point Yacht Club are in sixth place and Luke and the HMYC - Henley Midmar Yacht Club guys are in 11th after four races.

Wind is predicted to be gentler today after two days of a hefty 20knots breeze.

We found some pretty epic shots of the HMYC - Henley Midmar Yacht Club sporting our UK Sails - the Midmar entry has Luke helming.

Two races were sailed on day one and they are currently in 11th place having scored a 10 and 12. Luke stated that you make one wrong decision, it costs you dearly.

Lessons learnt - good luck and go get me Luke!

Congrats to the two KZN teams sporting our sails in Cape Town this weekend.

Richard Weddell and his team finished the J22 warm up regatta with an impressive first place in race five. The Point Yacht Club team finished mid-fleet in seventh overall.

The HMYC - Henley Midmar Yacht Club team had a challenging regatta finishing 12th overall. To our very own Craig and Luke - well done. You did say that this was a shake down regatta where results didn't matter but gave you time to tweak the boat before the main event.

Thank you to Royal Cape Yacht Club for putting on the event.

This weekend, competitors will be heading to Cape Town to compete in a tune up event ahead of the Lipton Challenge Cup that takes place at the end of the month.

Wishing all competitors a successful shake down regatta, including our very own Craig Millar and Luke Wagner who will be competing on the HMYC - Henley Midmar Yacht Club's UK Sailmakers entry.

The HMYC team is pictured at the unveiling of their brand new set of sails crafted by UK Sailmakers South Africa. Pictured here are Craig; Luke, bowman Andrew Wittstock and Tony Cockerill, who will play the role of Team Manager.

RAPTOR still has claws!

Fintan Cairns’ Mills 31, RAPTOR, representing the Royal Irish Yacht Club, claimed 1st place in the Cruisers One division during Race 3 of the DBSC Summer Series on May 8th.

Despite light winds and a competitive 11-boat fleet, the 29-year-old RAPTOR finished 1 minute and 13 seconds ahead of series leader Brian Hall's J/109, SOMETHING ELSE, on corrected time.

With decades of experience, skilled crew work, and sails from UK Sailmakers Ireland, RAPTOR proves she’s still got it.
