EMERGENCY POWER OUTAGE – BANDELIERKOP FEEDER LINE

Makhado Local Municipality will temporarily interrupt electricity supply on the Bandelierkop feeder line from 16:00 to 18:00 on 17 August 2026 to replace a burning cutout.

The outage will affect Limpopo Dairy, Madombidzha Mall, Tshiozwi, Gogobole, Ramahantsha, Riverside, Muananzhele, Magau and the whole of Bandelierkop Farms.

We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate residents' patience and understanding.

The pledge formalises a multi-stakeholder commitment to strengthen campus safety and security at North-West University. It emphasises collaboration between the , college leadership, student representatives, and community structures.

The role-players in the Campus Community Safety Forum, shall endeavour to deliver on the following:
•Maintain the safety and security of all members of North-West University recognising that everyone has a responsibility to create a safe and secure environment;
•Act with integrity, respect and vigilance at all times;
•Commit to comply with all safety guidelines and procedures that apply at the college;
•Support initiatives that strengthen safety and security at all times;
•Strive to foster an environment where everyone feels secure, valued and empowered to flourish academically and personally with the understanding that safety is the foundation for our shared success; and
•Prioritise Gender Based Violence and Femicide in line with President Ramaphosa’s classification as a national disaster in South Africa that demands national action.

Happening Now | Minister P**e Engages Beneficiaries During SASSA Oversight Visit in Khayelitsha

Minister of Social Development, Ms Dina P**e, accompanied by SASSA CEO Mr Themba Matlou and SASSA Spokesperson Dr Paseka Letsatsi, is conducting an oversight visit at the SASSA Local Office in Khayelitsha to assess service efficiency and identify opportunities to strengthen service delivery.

During her engagement with beneficiaries, Ms Nokhaya Ndjotini shared her experience regarding waiting times and the need to enhance support for older persons. Ms Phumla Ludziya also raised concerns regarding access to grant-payment services and the need for prompt assistance when service interruptions occur.

The Minister is listening to beneficiaries and engaging frontline staff to better understand their experiences and identify practical, sustainable interventions. The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Department and SASSA to improve operational efficiency and ensure that all beneficiaries, particularly older persons and other vulnerable groups, receive timely, respectful and dignified services.
