DJ Lover Lover: Chasing a Dream and Building Futures in Gqeberha, Kwazakhele,in the Eastern Cape.

The stage is set in Gqeberha KwaZakhele,in the Eastern Cape. The Thuthukani Creative Workshop has officially begun, marking the start of a new chapter for young creatives in the Nelson Mandela Metro.

Behind the project is Ziphozihle Moyeni, known on stage as DJ Lover Lover. A passionate young person from Gqeberha, KwaZakhele in the Eastern Cape, Ziphozihle has a deep love for creative arts and entertainment. He is also the Founder and CEO of the Thuthukani Developmental Arts Project

“Living with Cerebral Palsy, I stand as proof that determination and belief can make anything possible. I am committed to empower youth in my community to embrace their talents, stay active, and choose positive paths instead of crime and drugs. Thuthukani is a community-based arts mentorship programme focused on developing emerging artists from KwaZakhele and surrounding areas. The programme runs over an intensive three-month period from July to October 2026, culminating in a Grand Finale & Public Exhibition on 31 October 2026”,he said.

The project supports 40 young creatives across four key disciplines: Music, Dance, Acting, and DJing. Participants receive:
- Structured artistic mentorship from industry professionals
- Comprehensive business skills training
- Basic financial management education
- Professional performance experience
- Industry networking opportunities

“Starting an organisation with limited resources has been a challenge. Support has been mixed — some ignores our call, others offered advice. Surviving on a disability grant makes access to equipment and resources even harder. Despite these obstacles, the vision remains clear. The goal is to turn talent into opportunity, and to help others while breaking barriers” he added.
