BREAKING NEWS: SOLDIER SHOOT HIS 17-YEAR OLD SON AND TURN A GUN ON HIMSELF
A 53-year-old soldier shot and killed his 17-year-old son before attempting to take his own life at Ha Mutsha village, Tsh*tandani, in the Levubu policing area under the Vhembe District on Sunday morning, 19 October 2025.

According to Limpopo police, officers from Levubu received reports of a shooting at around 06:17. Upon arrival, they found the father lying in a pool of blood outside the house, still alive, with a 9mm pistol next to him. Several spent cartridges were scattered on the ground.

Further investigation led officers inside the house, where they discovered the lifeless body of a 17-year-old boy on a bed with gunshot wounds to the head.

Police confirmed that the 53-year-old man is a member of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) stationed outside Mookgophong. He was transported to hospital under police guard for medical treatment.

The motive behind the shooting is not yet known, but domestic violence has not been ruled out as the father and son were the only occupants of the house.

BREAKING NEWS: IS MBALULA AFRAID OF MOTSEPE??
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has publicly apologised to billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe following comments he made regarding Motsepe's alleged political ambitions.

Mbalula clarified that his remarks were not intended as a personal attack but were aimed at discouraging speculation about leadership succession within the ANC.

During an address to ANC members in Mpumalanga, Mbalula stated, "When I spoke about Patrice Motsepe, people said I was fighting with him… No, I'm not fighting with him," and added, "If I spoke badly, I withdraw those words" .

He explained that his comments were a reflection of the National Executive Committee's (NEC) decision to avoid discussions about succession battles and focus on winning elections.

The apology came after Motsepe's associates approached Mbalula to address the issue. Mbalula acknowledged their concerns and reiterated that his comments were misinterpreted. He described Motsepe as "a respected patriot and philanthropist," underscoring that there was no ill will between them .

Motsepe, who serves as the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has consistently dismissed rumors about his interest in pursuing the ANC presidency.

At a recent South African National Editors Forum (Sanef) fundraising event, he reiterated his stance, stating, "I’m not mad," and emphasized that he does not need to enter politics to contribute to the country .

This development highlights ongoing discussions within the ANC regarding leadership succession, especially as the party approaches its national elective conference in 2027.

The incident also underscores the sensitivity surrounding public statements about potential candidates for the party's top positions.

BREAKING NEWS: MADALA RAPES CHILDREN USING SWEETS
A serious incident has caused a lot of concern in the community of Veeplaas, located in the Eastern Cape.

A 63-year-old man from New Brighton was caught and assaulted by local residents after accusations emerged that he had been involved in abusing several children.

According to reports, he would lure young children with treats like sweets and bread before assaulting them.

Witnesses say the man had been targeting children for several weeks, and suspicions grew among the community members. The situation came to a head when locals noticed a young girl leaving the man’s home upset and crying.

Anger boiled over, and the residents confronted him. They physically assaulted him before calling the police to take control of the situation and prevent further violence.

Authorities confirmed that the man was arrested and is now facing multiple charges related to sexual assault and r**e. A police spokesperson urged the community to allow the legal process to take its course, warning against taking justice into their own hands.

BREAKING NEWS: RAF TO COMPENSATE FOREIGN NATIONALS INVOLVED IN LIMPOPO BUS CRASH
The Road Accident Fund (RAF) has confirmed that families of the 43 victims who perished in a tragic bus crash in Limpopo on October 12, 2025, will receive compensation, irrespective of their immigration status.

The crash occurred near Louis Trichardt on the N1 highway, claiming the lives of 30 Zimbabweans and 6 Malawians, with 49 others injured. The bus was en route from Gqeberha to Harare and onward to Malawi.

RAF spokesperson clarified that the fund is legally obligated to compensate all individuals involved in road accidents within South Africa, regardless of their legal status. This stance is supported by recent court rulings that have overturned attempts to exclude undocumented foreign nationals from claiming compensation.

The incident has sparked debate on social media, with some questioning the fairness of compensating undocumented individuals, while others argue for the humanitarian aspect of the policy.

As investigations into the cause of the crash continue, the RAF is expected to process compensation claims for the victims' families in the coming weeks.
