BREAKING NEWS: CRIMINAL POLICE CONSTABLE SHOT DEAD
Constable Philani, attached to the Zonkizizwe Police Station in Katlehong, was allegedly shot and killed after allegedly engaging in criminal activity on the R59 road in the Free State.

According to reports, Constable Philani, allegedly used a private V/W Golfs fitted with sirens and blue lights to stop freight trucks and private vehicles, unlawfully blocking the road. During the incident, a confrontation occurred, and he was shot by on-duty police officers.

He was allegedly part of the so-called "Blue Light Gang".

The incident has raised serious concerns about police conduct and the misuse of state resources.

UPDATE: A WOMAN BEHIND THE KILLING OF DJ WARRAS
Johannesburg MMC for Public Safety Mgcini Tshwaku says police have identified a woman as a person of interest in the murder of Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras.

The woman is alleged to have been a former tenant at the Zambesi building in Johannesburg’s CBD, where DJ Warras was shot.

Police have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the killing of Dj Warras which happened on Tuesday.

Five people have been taken in for questioning so far.

Tshwaku says police are working around the clock to get to the bottom of the case.

“There’s a woman as well cited to be the kingpin, she’s cited also in the protection order. The woman is a woman of interest. There’s a committee there that has been threatening Warras and some of them have been saying that because he’s trying to take them out then they will see them in the bush hence he had to go and get a protection order.”

Scenario:

The complainant alleges that he received the complaint of shooting.

On arrival at the scene he found a male lying on the pavement in pool of blood. He had four gunshot wounds on his chest and on gunshot wound on the chin.

There were three cartridges and one live Ammunition next to the body and 9mm firearm next to him.

The witness alleges that the deceased was driving in a silver VW Golf 6. He parked it at corner Von Weiligh.

He was approached by three males who fired shots at him, he managed to run and he tried to draw his firearm but did not manage to fire any shot. Nothing was taken from him.

A private vehicle driver was attacked and knocked down by one of the taxi patrol vehicles, in an incident linked to harassment from the taxi industry, on the R101 outside Mokopane, Limpopo, on Sunday.

It is alleged that taxi patrol vehicles from a local taxi association attempted to stop a Toyota Avanza. During the incident, the Avanza driver allegedly fled the scene after being attacked and knocked off by one of the vehicles.

He subsequently lost control of the vehicle and collided head-on with a Mercedes-Benz.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash. A male passenger in the Avanza sustained minor injuries, while the two occupants of the Mercedes-Benz were also treated for minor injuries.

As part of ongoing investigations, two taxi patrol vehicles linked to the incident were confiscated.

At this stage, no arrests have been made, pending the finalisation of investigations.

POLOKWANE COURT TO RULE ON SHEBESHXT BAIL APPLICATION TODAY

POLOKWANE — The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court is expected to deliver judgment today on the bail application of popular Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, widely known as Shebeshxt or Shebe Maburna.

Chauke has been in custody since his arrest in November and is facing nine serious charges, including multiple counts of attempted murder, assault, as well as the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The offences fall under Schedule 6 of the Criminal Procedure Act, which places a heavy burden on an accused person seeking bail.

The State has strongly opposed his release, arguing that Chauke has a history of violent behaviour, has previously committed offences while out on bail, and allegedly attempted to interfere with witnesses through associates. Prosecutors also challenged claims relating to his personal circumstances and raised concerns about alleged substance abuse.

Chauke’s legal team has denied the allegations and applied for bail set at R50,000. His lawyers maintain that he has strong community ties, poses no flight risk, intends to stand trial, and that some of the cases cited by the State were previously withdrawn.

The matter has drawn widespread public attention due to Chauke’s rapid rise in Limpopo’s Lekompo music scene, as well as his recent personal tragedy, including the death of his young daughter in a car accident. A refusal of bail could also jeopardise his lucrative December performance bookings.

Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi is expected to hand down the ruling at 11:30 today.
