The number of asylum seekers supported in hotels has fallen by half, from 32,041 to 16,021. But at the same time, 69,038 people are now living in dispersal accommodation, up from 66,234. Overall, the number receiving asylum support has fallen from 106,075 to 93,293. The figures suggest the system is shrinking while demand is shifting into ordinary accommodation across towns and cities.
