*N1 POLOKWANE MOKOPANE SLIPPERY DUE TO HAILSTORM*

There's a hailstorm on the N1 between Polokwane and Mokopane. Motorists are advised to drive with caution due to slippery roads.

Two accidents have already occurred in different sections of the N1 South.

•Accident 1: Ysterberg
-Three vehicles were involved in a side swipe accident(HMV Petrol Tanker, LDV, and BMW)
-Status: No injuries, 1 lane closed

•Accident 2: Caltex next to The Ranch Resort
-Head on collision between a heavy motor vehicle and a light delivery vehicle
-Status: 2 people transported to hospital

Traffic officers are monitoring the situation on N1, and all emergency services stakeholders are on standby.

It's recommended that motorists exercise extra caution when driving in these conditions by reducing speed, maintaining a safe following distance, and activating headlights for improved visibility .

*TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH CATTLE THEFT IN POLOKWANE*

The South African Police Service in Limpopo has made a significant breakthrough in combating stock theft. Two suspects, aged 28 and 29, from Sebayeng, were apprehended on Friday, May 9, 2025, for stealing eight cattle. The suspects were caught while transporting four stolen cattle in a white Isuzu bakkie with a cattle trailer.

*LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:*

- All eight stolen cattle have been recovered alive, along with the vehicle, trailer, and a cattle control electrical shocker.
- Two additional accomplices fled the scene and are expected to be arrested soon.
- The arrested suspects were scheduled to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Monday, May 12, 2025.
