NO ARRESTS MADE IN MULISA RAMUNANGI'S MURDER CASE
THOHOYANDOU: The Police are yet to make a breakthrough in the murder case of Mulisa Ramunangi.
The 18 - year old was recently laid to rest after she was confirmed to be the young woman whose body was discovered in a river at Mvudi Park, Muledane, outside Thohoyandou a month ago.
Ramunangi's body was found on Saturday, 20 September at around 15:30.
According to police, officers responded to a complaint and arrived at the scene to find the body of a female floating in the water.
SAPS divers retrieved the remains, and initial investigations revealed that the body had been in the river for some time.
Mulisa was discovered naked, with her hands and legs tied, and a 5kg mealie bag filled with stones attached to her legs. Disturbingly, she had also sustained visible injuries, including cuts to both feet and the removal of some body parts.
Mulisa had been reported missing days earlier after leaving her home to attend the Royal Heritage Festival. She was last seen boarding a taxi at Phiphidi but never returned home.
Despite her family’s desperate search and inquiries with friends, her whereabouts remained unknown until the tragic discovery.
The heartbreaking news came after residents living near the river alerted authorities and the family to a suspicious object in the water.
Reports suggest her body was partially concealed in a maize meal bag when found.
A month after her death and horror discovery of her body, no arrests have been made.
