It’s been a minute, but I needed a chance to get back home.
I had the privilege of being one of the four speakers at the Border Mighty Men Conference in East London that took place 28 – 30 August 2026.
I had the opportunity to minister to men in prayer, healing and also baptism.
On the Saturday morning it was time for my message.
I opened up the conversation speaking about something that always seems to find its way into its own category, even though what causes people to go there is the same as any other activity.
This activity is called Gaming.
I was able to share about times in my life where I became addicted to it and the why’s around it.
This addiction is the same as any other. It doesn’t start there. It starts little by little.
Why?
Because the places in life I found myself in didn’t make me feel like I belong there. I was also not celebrated there, but often times rather bullied and ended up getting myself into a place where I was celebrated, rewarded and awarded for being the best me I knew how to be.
Unfortunately, this was an unhealthy space and way to seek the fulfilment that because it didn’t last. You needed the next achievement or reward to feel good again.
A brilliant method to sidetracking me from what God intends for me to do.
I was quickly able to show how this addiction is the same in every activity, fishing, hunting and any hobby or sport that becomes a safe space, idol and quickly become the only place where we feel we belong.
This in turn keeps us away from loved ones, building relationships and keeps us far away from what God intends for us to do.
I then finished off by sharing how God got a hold of me, showed me that all the fulfilment I’ve been seeking is wasted in the temporary things, and that He is the eternal fulfilment. Only He is what can actually fill that emptiness we seek to fill up with these addictions.
So, God broke the addictions over my life and I started getting filled up more than ever before because Jesus isn’t temporary. When He comes in, He stays and the more I spend time with Him, the fuller I get and something awesome happened. I became overfull and started spilling all around me, and people started getting affected with this life that only comes from Jesus.
I called men who’ve realized they’re stuck to stand up, come forward and give it all over to Jesus and let Him fill us up.
The response blew me away, to see men both young and old realize this is an issue in their lives, and even afterwards to be able to have men come to me to share their testimonies of broken addictions and how what I spoke on helped them realize things that have been standing up, been in the way and how they were immediately freed from that desire because they know Jesus came to fill them up.
I am so thankful to the Lord for this opportunity and praise His name for all He does for us.
I’m looking forward to see those men go on and inspire others with what Jesus has done for them and also for me to be able to carry on my mission of getting men set free from bo***ge and fill their roles that God intends for them.
But also to stretch this to women also, because they too face similar challenges.
Let’s stand together, lift each other up and help each other get to Jesus, the One who truly sets us free.
John 1:4 – In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
