It has been a sleepless night for me. Waking up at two , and struggling with sleep until the sun started rising. Maybe, just maybe, I should start changing and restart some of my habits.
I sat down, with a cup of green tea, and lemon, trying my best to sound and look awake. I flicked through the messages of my online media church, and answered a few. However, my mind seemed to wander, back to the upcoming weekend. With the help of Pastor Matabiele, his team from Uitenhage, my husband and son, we are busy planning an evangelical outreach in Colchester, Sundays River Mouth, Eastern Cape , South Africa.
I looked up at the TV screen when I heard these words. " WALK SOFTLY BEFORE THE LORD". The Holy Spirit whispered to me.
In my heart I answered, Yes Lord. Slowly I started meditating on these oh so powerfull and oh so true, words. Come on, I am sure you would agree with me. There are only a few people in this world, who really heard, the true meaning of these words.
WALK SOFTLY BEFORE THE LORD.
We do not. We do not want to. We rather run our day , focused on our own ideas and "not so wonderfull" , moments. That moment when you lost your temper, you did not walk softly before the Lord. You yelled at the kids, kicked the dog out of frustration. Even worse, cursed the taxi driver, judged someone else, physically and verbally abused your neighbour, because, "I am the know it all".
The above is so not walking softly before the Lord.
Would it not be a different world, if we could only realize that every hour, every minute, every second, we are forever in the eye of God. His Presence is everywhere, all the time.
Let me ask you, have you considered TODAY , that God is so aware of your every move, your every action , your every word?
What are you doing today, are you running this race with " me, myself and I, " or are you adhering to the Holy Spirit, leading and guiding you ?
ARE YOU WALKING SOFTLY BEFORE THE LORD?
Luke 1:6 : Zechariah and Elizabeth: "And they were righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord".
They walked softly before the Lord, and He answered their prayers.
Blessings,
Pastor Elize Hall.
