Dagon Point Studio This is the page of the Dagon Point Patreon. I am a traditional artist on a digital art journey. I am, however, still very much learning and growing.

I use this to share news and updates about the digital art commissions, projects, and videos I am working on. In other words, I am an old dog learning a new trick, mostly on Patreon. Influenced by the fantasy art of the 70’s and 80’s, and an avid role-player for over 30 years, I want to master the painting of digital fantasy and sci-fi images. This is quite a change from the abstract oil paintings

and figure drawings that I normally do. I’ve been at this a few years now, and my digital work is getting better but it’s not the best. I have basic equipment, a thorough knowledge of core competencies, and I know enough to know how to develop my skills. I want this to be more than a hobby – I need more time and better gear, that’s where my Patreon supporters come in! We are trying out a new game called Heart: the City Beneath and it has some interesting concepts. Most importantly, I wanted to explore my colour play a bit more and a new character seemed like a perfect opportunity. Meet Zarthos, a drow junk mage, wielding a blunderbuss and wearing his ragged cloak and absurdly large hat.

Our table is currently going through an Achtung Cthulhu campaign (Call of Cthulhu set in the theatre of WW2). Soon (they don't know it yet), they will be facing mutant attack gorillas with power fists.

I was very disappointed to learn that there were no images of such a ridiculously cool monster, so I decided to draw one. Enjoy!

I felt like doing something "low stakes." I am busy working on more serious stuff (an exhibition in 2026, and some character ideas for a potential new book), so I decided to start a drawing with no real plan.

I liked the results. It ended up with a sad bear at a grave site but I have no real title. You are more than welcome to suggest something. I'll be posting the process video so you can see how it all comes together from nothing really.
