Brenda’s recognition is not just a personal achievement but a reflection of Atlega’s mission – empowering women, creating opportunities, and building businesses that make a lasting impact in our communities.

Her journey reminds us that when women are given the platform and support, they can transform not only their own lives but also inspire change in others.

Congratulations once again Brenda – this is a victory for you, for Atlega, and for every woman who dares to dream and act

A big thank you to Denise van Huyssteen and the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber for the kind words and continued support – your encouragement means so much to us. 🙏

The Walk That Carries a Thousand Steps

That walk to the stage… it’s not just a few metres. It’s a lifetime. Every step echoes the nights you cried in silence, the mornings you rose before the sun, the sacrifices no one saw but God. It’s the weight of perseverance stitched into your bones, the quiet strength of a woman who refused to be broken.

And that smile—haibo, that smile is not just joy. It’s survival. It’s pride. It’s the kind of smile that says, “I’ve been through the fire, and I didn’t just survive—I built something from the ashes.”

You walk with the spirit of your grandmother beside you, her prayers still dancing around your feet. You walk with the dreams of every woman who thought she wasn’t enough. You walk with the hopes of youth who need to see that it’s possible.

This award? It’s not just a trophy. It’s a testimony. A reminder that pain has purpose. That hard work speaks, even when you don’t know how to shout. That someone is always watching, even when you feel invisible.

You didn’t just walk to the stage. You walked into your calling.

A Moment for My People, My Purpose, My Prayer Warriors

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted. It stretches you, bends you, and sometimes strips you bare—of comfort, of dignity, of certainty. Yoh, there are days when you cry in silence, when the world doesn’t see the battles behind the smile. But last night… last night reminded me why I keep showing up.

Some of us don’t shout our wins from the rooftops. We don’t always know how to package our greatness for the public eye. But when someone sees you—really sees you—it’s like God whispering, “I haven’t forgotten.”

That award wasn’t just for me. It was for my late grandmother, whose prayers still cover me like a warm blanket on a cold Free State morning. It was for every person who held me up when I was too tired to stand. My support system. My destiny helpers. My tribe.

This is for you. For every sacrifice. Every sleepless night. Every whispered prayer. Every “Don’t give up, Brenda.” You didn’t just believe in me—you reminded me to believe in myself.

We rise. We fall. We rise again. And when we rise, we rise with our people.

🖤 Ngiyabonga. Ke a leboga. Enkosi. Thank you.
