This is the official page of Nelson Mandela Bay's leading newspaper The Herald and our weekend edition Weekend Post - bringing you the best in local, national and international news. On May 7th 1845 the first copy of The Herald was printed, making it the oldest newspaper in South Africa. The Herald has come a long way since that first printing day, when the paper hit the streets at a cover price of a single penny. From its humble beginnings as a black-and-white four pager more than 170 years ago to the leading print and digital publication in the Bay today, one thing has remained unchanged; The Herald was and still is the voice of Nelson Mandela Bay – in print and also online.
