For many South Africans, a road trip isn't officially a road trip until you've stopped at πŸš—β˜•Nanaga Farm Stall

Situated just outside Gqeberha, Nanaga has become a legendary stop for travellers for decades. What began as a family-run farm stall has grown into one of the Eastern Cape's most loved destinations.

Whether you're after their famous roosterbrood, mouthwatering pies, freshly brewed coffee, biltong, milkshakes, frozen goodies, sauces, jams, gifts, toys, or simply a break from the road, Nanaga has it all.

Their famous lamb and mint pie alone is worth the drive 😍πŸ₯§

Friendly staff, incredible food, and that unmistakable farmstall atmosphere make this a must-visit stop for locals and tourists alike.

Fuel up the car, fuel up yourself, and enjoy one of South Africa's most iconic roadside destinations.

β˜•πŸš— The Americans call it a gas station...
We call it a petrol station.

But Nanaga? We call it a national treasure. 😍

Roosterkoek, pies, coffee, milkshakes and enough treats to keep the whole family happy.

Always Nana-nice stopping at Nanaga!

πŸ₯§πŸ”₯ Warning: Stopping at Nanaga may result in unexpected purchases.

You came for fuel...
You left with pie, biltong, biscuits, coffee, sauces and enough snacks to survive a small apocalypse. πŸ˜…

No road trip is complete without a Nanaga stop!

πŸš—β˜• If you've travelled through the Eastern Cape, chances are you've stopped at Nanaga at least once!

Some stop for fuel.
Some stop for coffee.
Most stop because someone in the car shouted, "WE'RE GETTING ROOSTERKOEK!" πŸ˜‚

From pies and biltong to coffee and farm-fresh goodies, Nanaga is more than a pitstopβ€”it's a tradition.

I was absolutely blown away when I recently popped into The Rice Bowl in Hurd Street, Newton Park, tucked away behind Pick n Pay Newton Park πŸ‘€πŸ₯’

The moment you walk through the doors, you quickly realise this isn't your average food store. Their range of ingredients for Asian and Oriental cuisine is simply mind-blowing πŸ”₯

We're talking:

πŸ₯Ÿ Frozen dumplings
πŸ₯’ Spring rolls
🍜 Ramen noodles
πŸ₯‘ Specialty sauces
🌢️ Soy sauce varieties
πŸ₯ Asian snacks and ingredients
🍚 Products you don't often find in mainstream stores

Whether you're a seasoned home cook or simply curious to try something different, you'll find yourself wandering the aisles saying, "Oh wow, they have that too!" πŸ˜…

One of the things I found particularly exciting is their monthly open day. It's not quite a market, but more of a foodie experience where you can purchase ready-made goodies such as:

πŸ₯Ÿ Bao buns
πŸ₯’ Fresh spring rolls
🍑 Mochi
🍜 Delicious ramen dishes
πŸ₯  Other Asian-inspired treats

It's unique, it's different, and it's the kind of place that makes you want to try something new.

If you're looking to add a little adventure to your next meal, do yourself a favour and go check them out.
