🥳 Luisterfm is 10 Jaar oud!!
🟠Oorsprong van Luister FM:
Net soos elke superheld 'n oorsprong verhaal het, is dit die storie van Luister FM.
Die jaar was 2011, voordat musiek stroom dienste wêreldwyd beskikbaar was.
Twee vriende, Carel Du Preez en I'Andre Swanepoel, was gefrustreerd dat hulle nie naatloos na hul gunsteling Afrikaanse musiek in hul motors kon luister sonder om CD's moeisaam te ruil en lywige CD-albums rond te dra of die vervelige proses van 'n permanente klank kabel in hul motors te hê nie.
Soos ware radio rebelle het hulle gespeel met die idee om 'n “pirate” Afrikaanse AM-radiostasie te begin.
Die idee het gegroei en ontwikkel, en hulle het besluit om dit behoorlik op die FM-luggolwe te doen.
Daar was geen plaaslike radiostasie wat uitsluitlik vir die Afrikaanse gemeenskap voorsiening gemaak het nie.
Dit het 2 jaar en berge papierwerk en uithouvermoë geneem vir die amptelike registrasie van Luister FM op 90.5.
Die frekwensie moes egter verander word aangesien daar seinsteuring van een van Suid-Afrika se kommersiële radiostasies was, en daarom het Luister FM wortels op 90.6 FM geplant.
Die eerste regstreekse uitsending het op 5 September 2015 om 9vm plaasgevind.
Sedertdien het die stasie van krag tot krag gegaan deur verhoudings met ander plaaslike gemeenskap stasies te bou en verskeie gemeenskapsprojekte te bedryf.
In 2020 het die stasie 'n tweede frekwensie op 89.6 FM bygevoeg vir groter dekking.
Vandag vier ons 10 jaar gevul met wonderlike herinneringe wat nie moontlik sou wees sonder die rebelse hart van ons stigters en die onsterflike ondersteuning van ons lojale luisteraars nie.
Dankie vir 'n dekade van Luister FM en hier is op die volgende 10 jaar en nog vele meer.

🟠Origins of Luister FM:
Just as every superhero has an origin story, this is the story of Luister FM.
The year was 2011, before music streaming services were available worldwide.
Two friends, Carel Du Preez and I’Andre Swanepoel were frustrated that they couldn’t seamlessly listen to their favourite Afrikaans music in their cars without laboriously swopping CD's and carrying around bulky CD albums or the tedious process of having a permanent audio cable in their cars.
Like true radio rebels they toyed with the idea of starting a pirate Afrikaans radio AM station.
The idea grew and evolved, and they opted to do it properly on the FM airwaves.
There was no local radio station catering exclusively for the Afrikaans community.
It took 2 years and mountains of paperwork and endurance for the official registration of Luister FM on 90.5.
However, the frequency had to be changed as there was signal interference from one of South Africa’s commercial radio stations, and so Luister FM planted roots on 90.6 FM.
The first live broadcast happened on the 5th of September 2015 at 9am.
Since then, the station has gone from strength to strength building relationships with other local community stations and running various community projects.
In 2020 the station added a second frequency on 89.6 FM for greater coverage.
Today we celebrate 10 years filled with wonderful memories which would not be possible without the rebel heart of our founders and the undying support of our loyal listeners.
