Born Liyema Ndaleni, she uses her music to amplify the stories of young, black women and township youth, blending poetry, politics, and pride. Influenced by kwaito, hip-hop, and Xhosa storytelling, Leezy began performing at community events and rose to national attention with her 2024 debut EP “Misunderstood.”
Her music, including hits like “Umlilo,” “Igama Lam,” and “Sambe (Gqeberha),” is performed in isiXhosa, asserting cultural pride and resistance. Beyond music, she serves as the Treasurer of the EFF Youth Command at Nelson Mandela University, bridging art with activism.
