It was dry, overcooked, and the cheese was clumped in one area rather than evenly spread, detracting from what could have been a tastier treat. The cappuccino was unfortunately cold, but the mushrooms in both dishes were a highlight – cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor.
Die Akker Koffiehuis offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it a cozy spot to unwind. While some dishes could use a bit of refinement, the overall experience was pleasant and comforting.

Voerkraal captures the heart and soul of farm life with its charming decor, brimming with unique and personal touches that make you feel right at home. From rustic trinkets to cozy corners, every detail reflects the authentic ‘Boere’ experience, making it a delightful escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.

Voerkraal impresses with its top-notch cutlery and crockery – everything is sharp, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. We appreciated the casual placement of condiments, including the option for white pepper and fine salt, catering perfectly to various dishes. Drinks were beautifully presented, though a touch more fresh fruit in the gin and dry lemon would have been a welcome addition.

Nadia made our visit exceptional with her friendly yet professional demeanor and encyclopedic knowledge of the menu. The rest of the staff mirrored her professionalism and courtesy, and even the management took the time to check on our experience, ensuring everything was up to standard.

Each dish at Voerkraal is a feast for the eyes, plated with care and creativity. One small suggestion: if the portion of meat is on the smaller side, arranging the food closer together on the plate would enhance its visual appeal. Overall, the presentation was delightful and inviting.

Voerkraal serves up generous portions that left us pleasantly surprised. The crumbed mushrooms were encased in a crunchy, flavorful batter, though the tartare sauce could benefit from a few more gherkins. One of us savored a juicy fillet with perfectly cooked veggies, while the other tackled two enormous chicken Gordon Blues. Given their scrumptious size, offering a choice between one or two would be a thoughtful option. The crème brûlée was a sweet masterpiece, with just the right amount of crunchy caramelized sugar.

The ambiance, food, background music and experience, as a whole, made one possum reminisce about bokdrolletjies and the giddy feeling of how it and it’s siblings (sweets were a mite scarse growing up) used to softly – yet eagerly - enjoy the coating of chocolate to get to the peanut inside. It was like swirling soft condensed milk and castor sugar in your mouth before tasting the peanut... However, the later switch, by the manufacturer, to rather cover raisins in chocolate instead of peanuts – thinking that the ‘zinz’, as we called it, where everyone’s favourite instead of peanuts - has left us a bit nostalgic for the original. Sies vir die oorspronklike bokdrolletjie maker, but well done to Voerkraal that stays true to the roots.

Thank you, Voerkraal, for an unforgettable experience that whisked us back to simpler times and filled our hearts and bellies with joy.

Absolutely divine! The twinkling lights weave a romantic ambiance while the newly added bar is a touchdown for rugby (and other sports) fans. It's like stepping into a scene where every corner promises its own little story.

Spotless, clean, and sharp – much like the wit of the owner Mauro Maddonni! It looks like every piece of cutlery was polished to shine brightly, all set for a proper Italian feast.

Full marks here! From the kitchen to the floor, everyone’s looking sharp in their new uniforms, adding a nice touch of style to their already wonderful service. Our waiter was just the right kind of friendly and professional, there when you need her but not overbearing.

Can’t fault a thing here. The pizzas were not only tasty but also a treat for the eyes. The scrumptious pizzas came on big plates, perfect for the hearty helpings, with loads of condiments to add as you please.

REAL Italian food magic by a REAL Italian. Every bite was a tribute to true, passionate cooking, beautifully served and exploding with flavors that shout 'Italy' right at our table.

We just love Dante's. It's easily one of our top Italian spots around. The owners always make time for everyone, adding a real warm touch to the place. If you’re on the hunt for a true Italian meal with top-notch service in a cozy setting, you’ve got to swing by Dante's.

Stepping into G on V is like entering a peaceful haven, with a quiet and calm ambiance that's just right for unwinding. The beautiful view is a real treat – it’s like sitting in a postcard! We’re dropping a lovely 4 out of 5 possums for atmosphere.

Everything at our table was spot-on clean, with knives that could slice through just about anything and glasses that sparkled under the light. It’s a shiny 5 out of 5 possums for keeping things s***k and span!

This was a bit of a mixed bag. The reception could have been warmer – seemed like they might have been swamped at the time. However, our waiter turned things around with her good service, so we’re feeling generous with 3 out of 5 possums here.

Everything looked neat and appetizing on the plate. Nothing out of place, nothing to fuss about. It’s a solid 4 out of 5 possums for making our food look inviting!

We mostly had a delightful breakfast, with tasty dishes all around. However, one snag – the pouched eggs ordered soft came out hard, which was a bit of a disappointment for our friend. So, we’ll have to go with 3 out of 5 possums for this one.

Overall, dining at G on V was quite a pleasant experience, though there’s a bit of room for improvement in the warmth of reception and getting those eggs just right. It’s a cosy spot that’s worth visiting, especially if you’re after a serene setting with a view.

Our waiter, Keba, was exceptional. She was friendly, attentive, and possessed a delightful sense of humor.
