Mahwelereng - Mogalakwena Today attended Gojela High School Quarterly financial update and the proposed budget for 2026/2027 in Mahwelereng yesterday.
Principal Ms Makhado informed parents that schools will reopen on the 14 January 2026 and teachers will return on 12 January 2026. She reminded parents to collect learners books and stationary 12and 13 2026.

Ms Makhado reported on the success of the school the "break and fix" policy introduced in the first quarter highlighting the improved state of school facilities , with clean wall no graffiti or vandalism. She appealed to parents to cooperate as some have been unresponsive.

Parents at the meeting applauded Ms Makhado's efforts , and lunch was served after the meeting .

Gauteng - A team of lectures from Northern Cape Urban TVET College visited the South African Roadies Association (SARA) in Newtown Precinct Johannesburg , yesterday . The -three days visit was part of the facts finding mission to explore potential partnership and skill development opportunities for youth in live events and technical skills .

Meinrad Kolberg, a senior lecturer at Northern Cape Urban TVET College said, Our partnership with SARA a range of occupational programs aimed at equipping students with practical skills required to excel in specific trade and profession. These programs provide both theoretical knowledge and hands-on training and the occupational certificates issued will be essential qualifications that will empower students with practical skills and knowledge tailored to specific occupation

Kolberg added SARA's training qualifications on NQF 4 and our partnership could contribute to upgrading the qualifications to NQF to 5 to 8. "SARA is doing an incredible work and we are honoured to be in partnership with them. It's heartwarming to see how SARA is making a difference in the lives of our youth. The goal is to bridge the gap between academic employability challenges faced by many youth."

Freddie Nyathela, SARA President emphasized the importance of equipping youth with technical skills to become creative innovators and technologists in the live and events arts . He expressed disappointment that government entities like the Department of Sports Arts and Culture (DSAC) aren't more supportive hindering youth empowerment, educational transformation and job creation.

SARA' has a strategic partnership with the UK Academy of Live Technology and some graduates are working on cruise ships touring the US with Univer Soul Circus others working in The middle East and Africa. "SARA is a unique and dynamic training institution from Cape to Cairo." Nyathela said.

Polokwane - President Zuma of the uMkhonto we Sizwe Party, along with the national officials held a meeting at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane yesterday. As per the meeting resolution,a series of Roadshows will be conducted nationwide to strengthen and rebuild the party's presence in the provinces.

Limpopo is the first stop , with the leadership engaging local structures .
The party is gearing up for the local government elections and it is working towards rebuilding its presence in the province.

Next up is Gauteng, where the party will continue its efforts to strengthen its structures and prepare for the upcoming local elections.

Polokwane - Brigadier Mapone Mohajane and Captain Virgina Kupa from the Hawks Priority Crime Management Centre made a brief appearance at the Polokwane Commercial Crime Court today.

They're allegedly seeking to have an investigation officer dismissed, which could impact evidence linking former ANC MPL Tally Nkolo Mashamaite to the murder of Mogalakwena local Municipality councillors Vaaltyn Kekana and Ralf Kanyane, who were brutally shot at close range.

The court has postponed the hearing until 3 December 2025.

Mokopane. In an exclusive interview, Councillor Jerry Phiri announced his resignation from APC party effective immediately . When I asked if his departure was due to the floor crossing, he denied the speculation , stating,"It's time for me to move on and explore new opportunities that will benefit our communities". He emphasized his willingness to collaborate with anyone who shares the same vision for the community's betterment . His resignation letters attached.

Bakenberg - On Saturday 25 October 2025. the tombstone unveiling ceremony of the late Ralf Kanyane who was brutally shot at point blank range alongside his colleagues councillor Vaaltyn Kekana was held at his village Van Wykspaan Bakenberg . The ceremony drew a large number of St Angenas ZCC members and representatives from various political parties.

Among the attendees were Popcru George Kekana , ANC Regional Secretary Rufus Magoro,SACP District Spokesman Baba Selomo and others. Ralf's sister Flora Maroga expressed her emotions during a telephone interview , saying I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that Tally Nkolo Mashamaite a former Regional Secretary and MPL, allegedly manipulated senior Hawks officials Brigadier Mapome Mohajane and Capital Virgina Kupa , to influence the the investigation officer into my brother murder. It's a complex and a frustrating situation , like trying to piece together a jigsaw puzzle. We just want justice and for the truth to come out.

Polokwane -Brigadier Mapome Mohajane and Capital Virginia Kupa from the Hawks Priority Crime Management Centre appeared in the Polokwane Commercial Crime Court . They faced allegations of interfering with the investigation into the murder of Mogalakwena local Municipality councillors Vaaltyn Kekana and Ralf Kanyane .

The court granted time to secure a representation . The next hearing is scheduled for 12 November 2025.

Mokopane - Today, a Special Manucipal Council Meeting was held at Mogalakwena local Municipality , where ANC councillors have submitted a motion of no confidence to the Speaker Cllr Pheladi Oliphant . Following this, Cllr Josephine Madiba was appointed as an intern Speaker.

Apparently the council is divided into two factions , the one supporting the Speaker and the other backing the motion of no confidence . It seems the faction opposing Cllr Pheladi successfully pushed for her removal.
