Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has accused U.S. President Donald Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa of using their high-profile White House meeting to “gossip” about him, rather than addressing pressing bilateral issues. Malema’s remarks, delivered on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, came in response to Trump’s criticism of Malema’s public performances of the struggle chant “Kill the Boer” and South Africa’s land reform policies.

JUST IN | The South African Police Services issued a statement that went viral on various social media platforms, confirming an operation conducted in Marry Me informal settlements on Monday. They stated that the operation aimed to combat crime, enforce the law, and enhance visible policing in identified hotspot areas.

"This joint operation, executed in partnership with the Tshwane Metro Electricity Department and the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department, resulted in the removal of several illegal electricity connections and the confiscation of multiple transformers, valued at approximately R800,000," the SAPS said.

"Illegal electricity connections are not only unlawful but also extremely hazardous. These makeshift setups frequently cause electrical fires, pose serious electrocution risks, and strain the power grid, often leading to widespread outages disrupting essential services such as clinics, schools, and businesses. The community is urged to report such connections, as they endanger lives and undermine legitimate service delivery," the SAPS wrote.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has announced an increase in the price of petrol and 0.05% sulphur diesel from Wednesday.

Updated prices for fuel, gas and paraffin will be as follows:

- Both 93 and 95 petrol will increase by 28c
- Diesel 0.05% sulphur increases marginally by 9c
- Diesel 0.005% sulphur will decrease slightly by 0.84c
- The price of wholesale illuminating paraffin is expected to increase by 58c
- Single Maximum National Retail price for illuminating paraffin will cost a further 78c
- The maximum retail price for LP Gas is expected to decrease by R1.40

(BREAKING NEWS)-Vusi Ma R5 a popular barcadi artist from Mabopane was allegedly fatally shot on Sunday night at one of the venues he was booked at. It's alleged the shooting took place at a venue known as Legentsheng in M17.

It is believed he succumbed to the injuries after he was shot. Fans and friends of the barcadi star have started sending their condolences to his family and loved ones.
