Official statement by Adziambei Music Academy
As Adziambei Music Academy, we cannot stand aside and watch while women are slaughtered like chickens in our own communities.
The safety and security of women in our country must no longer be a story for the media. It must become a reality on the ground: police and all security clusters must move from words to action, protect women, and arrest every culprit without delay.
We call on SAPS, metro police and community structures to:
Arrest now those responsible for the murders of women, including those killed while jogging and going about their daily lives;
Increase visible patrols in our streets, parks and running routes;
Work with communities so that women can move freely without fear.
Women’s lives matter. Their blood will not be spilled in vain.
As an academy that nurtures voices, we raise our voice today: enough is enough,arrest now, protect women now.
