"Mayo is an outstanding player. He’s very good, and he’s that one guy who always wants to win. And with each opportunity he gets, he wants to win," says Mduduzi Mdantsane, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder.

Mdantsane recalled Mayo's time at Cape Town City, where he broke the goalscoring record. "There was a time when I was the club’s leading top scorer at Cape Town City, and he’d been telling me every day at training that he was going to break the record. And that pushed him to fight even more every game like this."

Mdantsane believes Mayo's versatility will be a major advantage for the technical team at Amakhosi. "He always has that hunger to be in the box and score. So, with me, I would prefer him on the right wing because he likes to cut inside and just shoot."

Mdantsane's advice to Mayo is "to remain humble and professional in every game... Just do your best. Every game is a cup final at Chiefs."
