Even the best of us get stuck at times, even me! 😅

Here’s a nice example from one of our recent river trips, showcasing my new Taaibos 4x4 accessories bumper and recovery points working well together with the Wild Dog 4x4 kinetic rope.

With a little preparation digging around the wheels and clearing some of the sand we gave ourselves the best chance of a quick and controlled recovery.

Remember, recoveries can be dangerous, so take your time and make sure you have the best plan of action before recovering. We were fortunate that I wasn’t stuck in deep water, so there was no immediate rush.

If you encounter a deep crossing and have even the slightest doubt about making it through, rather prepare for the worst-case scenario. Get your recovery ropes connected and positioned where they are safely accessible whether that’s around your bumper or on top of your roof rack, depending on your setup and situation.

That way, if things do go wrong, you’ve bought yourself some valuable time and have your recovery gear ready to go.

**Prevention is better than a cure!**

River trip 2026 done and dusted
Most water I have ever experienced doing this trip but it did made it so memorable and challenging
