There's still a police presence outside the Durban house of KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

This as a Commission of Inquiry is due to investigate his claims of a criminal syndicate lurking within the top brass of the police and judiciary.

Meanwhile, community policing forums are throwing their weight behind Mkhwanazi, and have called for a more expedited inquiry.

Kekana's driver fired a shot at the suspects who fled the scene - dropping a firearm in his yard in the process.

A woman arrested in connection with the death of 11 year old Jayden-Lee Meek, is set to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court today.

The suspect, understood to be the little boys relative, and the same person who reported him missing, was arrested on Friday.

Meek went missing in May and was later found dead at his residential complex in Fleurhof.

Ramaphosa stops Minister from going to China

President Cyril Ramaphosa ordered higher education minister Nobuhle Nkabane on Friday to cancel a trip to China — when she was already in the departure lounge at OR Tambo International Airport.

In what could presage a cabinet reshuffle later today when the president addresses the nation, Ramaphosa told Nkabane — who is accused of lying to parliament — not to go anywhere until after his speech.

It is understood that the minister had already checked in for her flight when she received the instructions from the Presidency in a letter on Friday afternoon
