Suspected Church robbers arrested

Five suspects, aged between 19 and 30 were arrested on the N4 Road near Kanyamazane turn-off today, Saturday 06 September 2025 where two fi****ms as well as a number of mobile phones and other items were recovered.

This breakthrough came after two robbery incidents, one was carried out at a church in Ngwenyeni near Nkomatipoort this morning around 03:30. During that incident, a young man (14) sustained some injuries when the suspects fired some shots, and he was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The second robbery is said to have taken place at a tavern in Madadeni, near Komatipoort in Nkomazi.

Meanwhile in another similar incident, a male suspect (22) was fatally shot after allegedly robbing congregants then shot three victims who sustained some injuries. This robbery was carried out at a mosque in Kwaggafontein last night, Friday 05 September 2025 around 18:30.

Putco Bus Company says it is deploying nearly 300 buses to move worshippers to the Zion Christian Church gathering in Moria, Limpopo, this weekend.

The N1 north will be busy as pilgrims travel to Moria in Limpopo, for the Zion Christian Church's gathering, while the N1 south will carry traffic to the Mangaung Cultural Festival in the Free State.

The operation is expected to transport close to 18 000 congregants.
