Intoxicated Male Mistaken For Deceased Body: Grangetown - KZN

A heavily intoxicated male lying on the side of the road was mistaken for a deceased body in Grangetown - KZN today (Wednesday).

A concerned resident noticed the man motionless on Garden Street. The individual, upon passing the same location several hours later and observing that the man had not moved, alerted a member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA). A Reaction Officer was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the Officer found the male lying on his back on the pavement.

After conducting an assessment, it was determined that the man was not deceased but was heavily intoxicated and asleep.

Pedestrian Fatally Injured In Accident: Phoenix - KZN

A pedestrian was fatally injured in an accident on Phoenix Highway in the vicinity of Stonebridge Drive in Phoenix - KZN today (Wednesday).

At approximately 16:31, members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene following reports of a pedestrian vehicular accident. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers found multiple emergency services already present.

It was established that a man in his fifties was attempting to cross Phoenix Highway when he was struck by a white Audi S3. The impact resulted in severe head and upper body injuries to the pedestrian which resulted in his demise.

The driver of the Audi S3 emerged unscathed from the incident.

Sexual Assault Suspect Found Ma********ng In Bedroom: Ethekwini - KZN

*Details Withheld To Protect The Identity Of The Victim.

A 36-year-old man accused of sexual assault was found ma********ng in his room when Reaction Officers confronted him at a block of flats in Ethekwini - KZN (exact location withheld).

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call for assistance from a female requesting assistance. The caller informed the Controller On Duty that her stepbrother attempted to sexually assault her 12-year-old daughter.

Reaction Officers were dispatched at approximately 12:26 and arrived on the scene minutes later. The complainant informed Officers that her minor daughter was alone at their home with her uncle.

The female is unwell and did not attend school today (Wednesday). She was in the kitchen when her uncle approached her from the rear. He turned her around and began grinding his crotch against hers and insinuated that he wanted to have sexual in*******se with her.

The girl pushed him away and fled into her room. She locked the door and waited for her mother to return. Her uncle called her multiple times and requested her to unlock her door. The girl informed her mother of the incident after she arrived. Her parent then contacted the RUSA Operations Centre for assistance.

Reaction Officers entered the accused’s bedroom and found him ma********ng while watching a pornographic video on his mobile phone. Officers requested that he get dressed.

He was thereafter restrained and handed over to the Verulam SAPS in KwaZulu Natal.

Mamelodi Shootout | Three Suspects Killed

Police say three armed suspects were fatally shot during a gun battle in Stoffel Park earlier today.

According to reports, officers acted on a tip-off about suspects allegedly in possession of fi****ms. On arrival, police were met with gunfire, leading to a shootout. Three suspects were killed while others sustained injuries.

Rifles and ammunition were recovered at the scene. Investigations are ongoing.

House Gutted in Fire: Mhlasini - KZN

A fire completely gutted a wood & iron home in Mhlasini - KZN this afternoon (Monday).

The blaze broke out while the homeowner was away, having left briefly to bathe at a relative's house in the nearby vicinity. Neighbours raised the alarm after noticing the house engulfed in flames, promptly contacting Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA).

Upon arrival, Reaction Officers utilised a garden hose to extinguish the fire, which had posed a significant risk to a nearby house (picture 4). The cause of the fire remains unknown.

No injuries have been reported.
