জিম্বাবুয়ের বিদ্যুৎ খাতে নতুন অধ্যায়: বেসরকারি খাতেও বিক্রি শুরু
হারারে, জিম্বাবুয়ে – দেশটির বিদ্যুৎ খাতে দীর্ঘদিনের একচেটিয়া অবসান ঘোষণা করেছে সরকার। এবার থেকে বেসরকারি কোম্পানিগুলোও বিদ্যুৎ কিনতে, বিক্রি করতে এবং বিতরণে অংশ নিতে পারবে।
নতুন নীতিমালার অধীনে লাইসেন্সপ্রাপ্ত প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো ZESA বা স্বাধীন উৎপাদক থেকে বিদ্যুৎ কিনে সরাসরি গ্রাহকের কাছে পৌঁছে দিতে পারবে। বিশেষভাবে সৌরশক্তি ও অন্যান্য নবায়নযোগ্য শক্তির ব্যবহার বাড়াতে এই পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে।
বিদ্যুৎ বিশেষজ্ঞরা বলছেন, খোলামেলা প্রতিযোগিতা বিনিয়োগ বাড়াবে, সরবরাহ ব্যবস্থাকে শক্তিশালী করবে এবং বিদ্যুৎ ঘাটতির সমস্যা কমাতে সহায়ক হবে। সরকার আশা করছে, ২০৩০ সালের মধ্যে দেশের সব অঞ্চলে বিদ্যুৎ পৌঁছে দেওয়া সম্ভব হবে।
জিম্বাবুয়ের বিদ্যুৎ খাতের এই পরিবর্তনকে যুগান্তকারী পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে দেখা হচ্ছে, যা বাজারকে খুলছে এবং দেশের শক্তি অবকাঠামো আধুনিকীকরণের পথে বড় ধাপ হিসেবে বিবেচিত।
A New Era in Zimbabwe’s Electricity Sector: Private Companies Begin Selling Power
Harare, Zimbabwe – The government has officially ended the long-standing monopoly of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA), allowing private companies to buy, sell, and distribute electricity.
Under the new policy, licensed companies can purchase electricity from ZESA or independent producers and supply it directly to consumers. The move particularly encourages the use of solar and other renewable energy sources.
Experts say that opening up the sector will boost investment, strengthen supply systems, and help address electricity shortages. The government hopes to achieve nationwide electricity coverage by 2030.
This reform is considered a landmark step in Zimbabwe’s electricity sector, opening up the market while advancing the modernization of the country’s energy infrastructure.
