Consequently, the clinic has been forced to turn away patients, including children, with some advised to return only once the water supply is restored, reportedly by Monday. The clinic's interim approach of admitting sick children in small groups of three has proven ineffective due to prolonged waiting periods and limited capacity, resulting in many families leaving without receiving the urgent care they require.

A concerned daughter has made a heartfelt appeal for urgent intervention after the mammogram machine at Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital reportedly remained non-functional for an extended period, thereby denying breast cancer patients access to critical diagnostic services.

In a message directed to Tsa Pitori, the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, revealed that her mother is suffering from breast cancer and has been unable to undergo necessary imaging due to the broken equipment. She expressed frustration at the ongoing delays, emphasizing that numerous patients, including elderly individuals with cancer, have been left without access to vital care.

“This is a matter of life and death. What happens if the cancer spreads while patients wait? The hospital needs to act faster; it’s been too long,” she stated. Tsa Pitori contacted the hospital in hopes of getting answers but had not received any response from the hospital by the time of publication.

The South African Police Service has apprehended four suspects in connection with the 2022 murder of renowned DJ Oupa John Sefoka, popularly known as DJ Sumbody. The arrests were executed on Monday afternoon in Gauteng by the SAPS Political Killings Task Team in collaboration with Gauteng Organised Crime Detectives. According to National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe, three of the arrested suspects are believed to be hitmen, while the fourth is suspected of ordering the hit.

The incident occurred on Friday night when armed men randomly opened fire on patrons. The police are currently searching for 10 suspects following the injury of 3 people and the death of 5 people. According to SABC news, Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo mentioned that the suspects are still on the run and the motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.

“We have arrested the owner of the tavern. 9 people are currently in hospital after they sustained injuries during the incident. According to the police, the suspects entered the tavern and started shooting at patrons randomly,” “Police are on the lookout for approximately 10 suspects after five people – two females and three males- were shot and killed. The police have opened a case of murder and attempted murder for investigation,” he said.
