We have just launched a GoFundMe project in the UK. It is to produce a documentary film titled "Rage of the Innocents." This is a true story that exposes one of the UK’s most shocking human rights scandals: forced adoptions.
In the film, we tell the story of Sam Nass, a young woman from Uganda who escaped the jaws of sexual trafficking and unimaginable horrors and was granted asylum in the UK.
But instead of finding safety and peace in the UK, she was confronted with a new nightmare — her 7-year-old daughter and newborn son were torn away from her by the state’s Social Services and the secretive Family Courts, and given up for forced adoption. She has not seen them since.
Sam is desperate to expose these human rights abuses. And she is not alone!
In the UK, around 3,000 babies and children are taken from their families every year without consent — often by force — under the pretense of "possible future harm", and then made available for forced adoptions. It is the only country in Europe that sanctions this.
These adoptions are approved by the courts, but court sessions take place behind closed doors in secret family courts. The public and journalists are barred. No one may know, no one may speak out. And all of this happens in a system where hundreds of millions of pounds exchange hands annually around adoption.
Through this film, we want to shine a light on this cruel and secretive system, and give a voice to the voiceless. Perhaps it can even help Sam get her children back and bring about real change.
The film is being produced by Blue Marble Entertainment, an award-winning television and film production company, led by Eugene, which has produced over 40 documentary films and more than 270 Carte Blanche stories.
