🚨 ALEXANDRA: MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS OUTSIDE GATE

A man was found lying outside a gate on 20th Avenue, London Road, Alexandra, this morning, with the circumstances surrounding the incident still unclear.

The person who discovered him reportedly did not know what had happened. A driver’s licence and car keys were allegedly found in his pockets.

Emergency services were contacted, and an ambulance arrived at the scene before taking the man for medical attention.

💔🕊️ LITTLE CLICHÉ’S FIGHT HAS COME TO AN END

Five-year-old Cliché Ockhuis has sadly passed away at Tygerberg Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Cliché was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and endured months of chemotherapy. In a desperate attempt to save her daughter, her 23-year-old mother, Hazel, became her stem-cell donor.

Although the treatment initially seemed to bring hope, the cancer returned and eventually spread to Cliché’s lungs.

Hazel remained beside her little girl throughout the heartbreaking journey, holding on until Cliché took her final breath at approximately 19:55 on Tuesday evening.

Those who knew Cliché remember a bright, joyful child who loved dancing, TikTok and dreaming about one day becoming a doctor. 💔

At just five years old, she fought a battle no child should ever have to face.

🕊️ Rest peacefully, little Cliché.
May her family be surrounded by love, comfort and strength as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

WHEN COMPASSION MEETS THE SIDE OF THE ROAD

A 72-year-old man in a wheelchair was reportedly found begging on the roadside near Kingsburgh Mall, after allegedly being brought there from Durban.

He was found in a severely neglected condition, covered in faeces, with wounds and showing signs that he urgently needed medical attention.

Community volunteers, including Luyande Meyer and Alta from Heart of Toti, cleaned and bathed him on the roadside, treated his wounds as best they could, and provided clean clothes, blankets, nappies and other essentials.

They initially waited for a state ambulance, but as it became dark and cold, they appealed for a private ambulance. A donor provided the money, and Faithmed eventually sent an ambulance.

The elderly man was then taken to Prince Mshiyeni Hospital for medical treatment.

The organisation said the main goal was to restore his dignity and get him safely into hospital, regardless of how he ended up on the streets. ❤️

Danville Witbooi is a Grade 6 learner from Caledon, Western Cape. After school each day, he sits outside Caledon SPAR and polishes people’s shoes to earn money.

The story has attracted attention because, despite being so young, Danville is already trying to contribute to his family’s needs instead of getting involved in crime or simply depending on others.

People are now calling for the community to support him by helping him get better shoe-polishing equipment and other necessities.

REST IN PEACE: The Tragic Death Of A Young 24 Year Old Footballer 💔🕊️

Former Kaizer Chiefs footballer Luke Fleurs, 24, was tragically killed during an apparent hijacking in Johannesburg on 3 April 2024.

Fleurs was at a petrol station when armed men allegedly approached his vehicle and ordered him to get out. As the suspects drove away with the vehicle, Fleurs was shot once in the upper body.

He was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Six suspects were arrested about a week later in connection with the murder. Investigators linked them to an alleged vehicle hijacking syndicate operating in Gauteng.

Fleurs’ vehicle was later recovered after reportedly being stripped. The suspects face charges including murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and defeating the ends of justice.

The case has been postponed several times as legal proceedings continue, with the accused still in custody awaiting further court proceedings.

HEROIC ACT TURNS TRAGEDY INTO A MIRACLE 🙏🏾❤️

A heartbreaking situation in Sphofu, eMthwalume, reportedly took an unexpected turn when Zamo Dlamini stepped forward to help a newborn baby who had been placed inside a bin.

According to reports, those at the scene believed the baby had already died and were too frightened to touch the newborn.

Zamo refused to stand by. He bravely approached the bin and took the baby out — and moments later, the unimaginable happened.

The newborn began crying. 😭❤️

The baby was alive.

Zamo’s courage and willingness to act in such a frightening moment are now being celebrated, with many praising him for not giving up when others had already lost hope.

Sometimes, one brave decision can make the difference between life and death. 🙏🏾
