Genuine question for men: beyond s*x, physical attraction, and what a woman does for you (cooking, cleaning, emotional support, helping with appointments, etc.), what makes you genuinely value your partner?

I ask because sometimes relationships can feel transactional. A woman can be attractive and get plenty of male attention, but that doesn’t necessarily translate into being genuinely valued or pursued for who she is.
So I’m curious about the men in long-term relationships:

What qualities make you love, respect, and continue choosing your partner even when she isn’t actively doing something for you? Why did you choose her?

Is it her personality? Her sense of humor? The way you feel around her? Shared values? Friendship? Something else?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing men’s perspectives…not necessarily looking for dating advice, just trying to understand what makes a woman valuable to you beyond what she provides.

Well, I can tell of one scenario. My aunt had two children with her husband. They separated. She moved with the kids to New York. They never got divorced. He was with another woman for over twenty years. That woman cared for him when he got ill and died. Come to find out he had never changed his beneficiary on his life insurance or anything else. His legal wife was still my aunt. They couldnt get the money to have the funeral without my aunt. Someone contacted my dad who called my aunt(his sister) to let her know the situation. I always admired and respected my aunt for what she did next. She took the train from New York to Illinois. My dad picked her up at the station. She had my dad take her to meet the husband’s partner. They went to the funeral home. She signed whatever she needed to sign to have the money released. She gave the money to the woman and told her to make whatever arrangements she needed to make. My aunt did not take a dime. She didnt even stay for the funeral. She had my dad take her to the station and she went back to New York. So I tell people if he or she are not legally separated or divorced they are still considered married and entitled to any benefits unless the spouse has made legal changes.

My brother (38) died yesterday (August 4th) after suffering a massive cardiac arrest around a week ago and being placed on life support.

He is a PT, I’m not sure how ‘legit’ his business or self employment status is.. he had recently started seeing clients in a local gym ran by a couple he has been with this gym for around a month. They had announced him as being part of their ‘gym team’ etc.

The couple sent messages to some clients last week saying my brother was unwell and wouldn’t be seeing clients, these messages were confusing and weren’t exactly helpful.

Clients attempted to call hospital for information, contact my sister in law and younger sibling via social media and contact my brother’s ex wife.

I spoke to the gym owner after his death and asked him to be respectful and ask clients to also be respectful, within a couple of hours I had the owner asking to pass my number over to clients, I refused.

I have since been contact by 3 clients saying they know my brothers has died and requesting a refund of the monies paid for PT, we know that there are others now on social media also spreading rumours of cause of death and saying they will go to small claims.

Does anyone the legal recourse here?
Does the gym have any responsibility to these clients rather than us, the family?

I can’t imagine my brother having business insurance, or be a registered business… his partner had no part in his business so has no further information either.

Any advice would be very appreciated
