Always ask your salesman if the stove you purchasing has an FFD ~ Flame failure Device

The purpose of it is to automatically cut off the gas supply after the burner's flame is extinguished

It's no longer an option on stoves now,it's required by law

I visited a home where gas was finishing almost every week and they couldn't identify why?

Problem wasn't their usage ~ it was a small fitting on the regulator leaking slowly and draining the cylinder every night

Yes sometimes high gas consumption can often be a fault,you might have added another appliance without upgrading your cylinder
