Once at his residence, the woman was allegedly r**ed.

The disturbing incident came to light when the suspect’s mother entered the bedroom and found the complainant crying. The victim’s family was alerted, and the matter was immediately reported to the police.

Police opened a r**e case, and the victim was taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment. The suspect was later arrested.

She urged parents, communities, and tavern owners to take responsibility and warned that tavern owners who allow minors into their premises will face criminal charges and possible closure of their businesses.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 December 2025, facing a charge of r**e.

Shock and anger have gripped Rotterdam Village in Limpopo following a heartbreaking family tragedy that left a 15-year-old girl dead and her father found lifeless day later.

Peter Themba Baloyi (45) allegedly killed his daughter, Xilaveko Suke (15), before disappearing from the village. The teenager had been reported missing earlier in the week after she allegedly left home with her father, who was said to be travelling with her to Giyani.

A desperate search was launched after the pair vanished on Monday, 22 December 2025, with the community joining police in appealing for information.

The horror unfolded on Thursday morning, when police were called to Baloyi’s home at around 08:50. The girl’s body was found inside a one-room house after her paternal grandmother alerted authorities. Police opened a murder case immediately.

News of the child’s death sent shockwaves through the village. Later that day, at about 18:00, Baloyi’s house was found burning, allegedly torched by angry residents overcome with grief and rage. Police have opened a separate case to investigate the arson.

The tragedy deepened on Friday, 26 December 2025, when Baloyi’s body was discovered in nearby bushes following intensive police searches. An inquest has been opened to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Police say investigations into both incidents are continuing.

The devastating events have left the community traumatised, with many residents calling for justice and stronger protection for children.

MAN SHOT FIVE TIMES AT HIS GATE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS

By Mashamba Media

Mr Morris Mabaso was brutally gunned down outside his home just two days before Christmas.

Mabaso was shot five times at close range near his gate on Tuesday night shortly after 20:00. He was rushed to Edenvale Hospital but tragically died the same night.

According to a family relative, Lebohang Ramoepane who told Alex News, the nightmare began when Mabaso’s wife arrived home with a friend. The two women noticed two suspicious men loitering at the gate.

One of the men reportedly moved closer to the vehicle and peered inside before stepping back, raising immediate alarm.

Mrs Mabaso rushed into the house and warned her husband that something was not right.

Mabaso went outside to confront the men. His wife followed but stayed behind.

As Mabaso opened the gate, one of the suspects, wearing a hoodie, opened fire, shooting him multiple times at close range.

His wife screamed in terror and ran back into the house to alert family members, while the gunmen fled the scene.

Shockingly, residents say the two men had been seen hanging around Mabaso’s gate on several occasions before the shooting. Mabaso had previously chased them away.

Some community members believe the suspects may be linked to hijacking incidents near the Marlboro Gautrain station, though this has not yet been confirmed by police.

Police have launched a murder investigation. No arrests have been made.

The community remains shaken as another life is lost to violent crime in Alexandra.
