BLANKETS RAIN DOWN LIKE MANNA FROM HEAVEN IN ALEXANDRA!

By Mr Lee
Mbyana ya Mahungu

History was made at Itlhokomeleng Association for the Aged & Disabled in Alexandra when Moti Cares, in proud partnership with the Dr Sophie Bethiwe Msiza Foundation, blanketed the community — literally — with love, warmth, and hope.

Word spread like wildfire early in the morning: "Come quickly — blankets are falling like manna from the skies!" In their pyjamas and morning gowns, elderly gogo’s, excited children, and surprised men and women rushed out of their homes, some still wiping sleep from their eyes.

What they found was nothing short of a miracle.

From house to house, street to street, warmth replaced the winter chill. Smiles stretched across cold faces, and laughter echoed down the alleys of Alex as nearly every household in the ward received a blanket — a simple gesture, but one that carried the weight of dignity, care, and humanity.

This wasn’t just a handout. It was a movement. A moment. A reminder that even in tough times, ubuntu still burns bright.

The interviews and exciting moments of residents receiving blankets are showcased in this beautiful link

Letter to the Editor:
A Call for Help to Trace Family of Undocumented Foreign National

Dear Editor,

I am writing to bring to public attention a tragic and deeply concerning matter involving an undocumented foreign national who recently passed away.

A man only known as Earnest Thobias Foya, popularly referred to as Petro, has died at Edenvale Hospital on the 16th of July. He was a Mozambican national believed to be homeless and unemployed, and was being helped by a good Samaritan in the Far East Bank, Ext 8 Linen Drive in Alexandra, Johannesburg.

Unfortunately, no one truly knows his family background or has clear information about his next of kin. What we do know is that he once mentioned that his father was a soldier in Mozambique. His middle name, Thobias, might offer a clue to his family or tribe back home.

We are urgently appealing to anyone who might have known Petro, or who may have information leading to the identification or location of his family in Mozambique. We also appeal to the Mozambican Embassy, human rights organisations, and local authorities to assist in tracing his relatives so that his remains can be handled with the dignity he deserves.

Time is of the essence. Let us unite in compassion and help this man find his way home — even in death.

EDITORIAL COMMENT
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: EXT 7 DESERVES BETTER!

As we head into local elections, promises are flying once again. But here in Extension 7, Alexandra, we’ve heard it all before: promises, speeches, campaign visits — and then, silence.

Let’s tell the truth. This community has endured the worst. A single drop of rain turns streets into rivers and homes into danger zones. People here are drowning — not only in water, but in neglect. The floods don’t leave quickly; they linger for days, exposing children, the elderly, and families to disease, danger, and inhumane living conditions.

And yes — the authorities know. They’ve seen it. They’ve walked these flooded paths during election season. So don’t insult us by acting surprised.

Is there no budget to fix this? No engineers? No urgency? Or is it simply that you don’t care — because your families live in suburbs, not in Extension 7?

Residents aren’t asking for miracles. They’re demanding dignity. They want real service delivery. They want leaders who show up even when there are no cameras.

This cannot go on.

We have a government. We have officials. We have political parties.
But what the people of Ext 7 don’t have — is justice.

A 17-year-old Athabile Khanyi, a bright Grade 11 student at Mkhaphu High School in Inanda ( KwaZulu-Natal Province ) took her own life after being gang ra for 3 days by 2 taxi drivers .

She went missing on June 6 and returned home on June 9, telling her shocked family she was kidnapped and ra for three days by two men—a taxi rank manager and a taxi marshal.

Sadly, her aunt shared with Daily Sun that the family didn’t believe her at first, telling her to ‘tell the real reason’ for her absence. This pushed Athabile into silence. Her mother later found a heartbreaking letter in her room, hinting at her deep pain and despair, before she ended her life at a relative’s house.

WHERE ARE YOU, BABA?

By Mr Lee
(Mbyana ya Mahungu)

For 20 years, Candice Mafa has lived without a father.
She was just 8 months old when he vanished from her life.

Now a grown woman in Mokopane, Candice is done wondering. She’s done waiting.

Her father’s name is Bulelane Vincent Ntlangulela, said to be well-known in Alexandra, 6th London — known by everyone except his own daughter.

She’s asking just one thing: "Baba, if you see this, call your daughter on 076 693 6035."

She doesn't want your money. She wants the truth. She wants answers. She wants her father.

Someone out there knows him. Tag him. Share this. Say something. Let’s not pretend to care about family only when it’s too late.

UPDATED!

"Thank you everyone Mbali is safe.
My daughter took Uber to school this morning around 9am. According to her friend, the driver told Mbali to sit in front and then requested her to cancel the ride as it was disturbing him. So Mbali decided to share the ride details with her friend before she made the cancelation. As this was suspicious to her cause the driber took a different route. Mbali sent the details to the friend, she instructed her friend to please contact the police and myself if 1 hour 30 minutes passes and she has not arrived at school.
The friend saw the time and panicked she then called the police and me (Mbali's mother)

Then Mbali sent us a text message say "safe" because of all the suspicious activity that took place we were unsure if it was her. If only she sent a vn then it would have been a relief. I couldn't take ths for granted, numerous incidents happened to our kids and some lost their lives."

DID YOU WEAR THAT SCHOOL UNIFORM TOO? PLEASE, COMMENT WITH IT, WE WANT TO ROAST YOU!đŸ€Ł

By Mr Lee
(Mbyana ya Mahungu)

Yoh, social media didn’t hold back this June 16! Parents really said, “If the kids won’t shine, we will!”—then brought out those tight ties, short tunics, and oversized socks like it’s 1976 all over again. But shame, some looked like they were ready for detention, not a celebration.

Now there’s even “calls” to postpone June 16 for three years—just so we can heal from the trauma of seeing a 79-year-old pretending to be in Grade 8.

If you were brave (or crazy) enough to wear that school uniform, please post the pic. We need to rate the madness. Or maybe roast it with love. đŸ”„đŸ“ž

Let’s see how "young and free" you really looked!
