Jeff Dunham is a widely acclaimed American ventriloquist, stand-up comedian, and actor who played a pivotal role in bringing ventriloquism back into mainstream popular culture. Born on April 18, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, Dunham began practicing ventriloquism at age eight after receiving a Mortimer Snerd dummy for Christmas. Over the decades, he has built an entertainment empire around a dynamic cast of handcrafted, outspoken puppet characters—including the grumpy old man Walter, the hyperactive hyper-purple Peanut, the redneck Bubba J, and José Jalapeño on a Stick. Renowned for his record-breaking Comedy Central and Netflix specials, Dunham holds a Guinness World Record for the "Most tickets sold for a stand-up comedy tour" and has consistently ranked among the highest-earning comedians globally. Beyond his live arena tours and television appearances, he has earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and uses his success to support philanthropic causes through the Jeff Dunham Fund.
