It's been over 4 months since my big chop and I must say, we are growing beautifully! 🌸‼️

We often think that our hair grows because of how often we braid and how tight the braids are, but in reality our hair does not grow faster by being pulled out from the scalp 😂 but the one thing that guarantees consistent health and growth is how we take care of it while it is still a TWA.

Finally got the scissor I needed to cut off split ends.

It's important to use hair specific scissors to cut your split ends because they are blunt and don't have sharp ends, specifically designed for hair. Normal scissors are quite sharp and can result in elongating the split end deeper; making hair thinner and dull looking.

YES IT IS IMPORTANT TO CHECK THE SCISSORS YOU USE TO CUT AND TRIM YOUR SPLIT ENDS!!!

Its been 8 years since my scalp started acting up when i wanted to braid. 8 years without braids.

This picture was last time I had braids in 2017.

I took them out the very next day, I couldn't even comb it to combine it. My scalp felt like it had been poured acid and then set on fire. That was the last time I had braids on. I had shades on because I had been crying grieving my hairstyle and freedom to braid.

But if there's anything about me, being a victim of circumstance is not in my DNA.

In my books, whatever is thrown at you; the fact that you still live to tell the tale, WILL FOREVER MEAN that you can ALWAYS direct your narrative.

I get sad sometimes when I can't braid, but I'm definitely not a victim. I believe that God is aware, and He knows what He's doing.

Coil pattern coming to play and I love it!

As a person who's had quite an experience with natural hair for some time, and also with my hair growing again now, I have realised that my coil pattern is a tad bit tighter than before.

I'm not complaining though! Actually excited to see the shrinkage coming.
