A Google Business Profile should do more than simply exist.

I started working on this local service business’s profile on 26 June 2026.

The latest results show:

• 1,146 profile views
• Appeared in 348 Google searches
• 7 phone calls
• 11 WhatsApp chat clicks

The profile is also appearing for relevant searches, including:

• “garage doors” with 176 searches
• “garage door” with 68 searches
• “garage doors Krugersdorp” with 35 searches
• “garage doors for sale” with 33 searches

That is 18 direct contact actions from people who found the business through Google.

The value is not just increased visibility. The business is being discovered by people who are actively searching for the services it provides.

A properly optimised Google Business Profile can become a valuable lead-generation asset for a local service business.

What my client said today genuinely meant a lot to me.

While he was in a meeting with the agency that runs his socials, he gave me a call to introduce me to them.

In the middle of discussing the marketing and the future, he told them with me on the line "No one is allowed to touch my Google Ads except Eugene".

Hearing that your clients value the work you do with them is a great feeling especially after hours of work.

That is the type of relationship I want to build with every client.

Not just the guy running ads but also understanding the business, communicating clearly, producing results and someone they can always trust.

Does your Google Business profile work for you?

or is it just sitting parked on Google where no one can see it.

With a few quick adjustments, it can generate a lot of attention and most importantly, a lot of extra revenue.

A few quick stats for this project

To all business owners.

Posting on Facebook is not an ad.

Boosting a post is not an ad.

The only way to run ads is through the ad manager.

I see way too many ''marketers'' take advantage of business owners by charging them for ads and then just posting on Facebook.

If you need help to see if you actually have ads running.

Reach out to me and I will check for you and let you know. 🤝

"Facebook doesn't have a lead problem. Most businesses have an attention problem."

I've lost count of how many business owners have told me:

"We post on Facebook all the time and never get any customers."

Then I look at their page.

And it's the same generic flyer that everyone creates.

Same green colors.
Same stock photos.
Same "Free Estimates."
Same layout.
Same everything.

Imagine walking into a street with 100 shops.

Now imagine 99 of those shops have the exact same sign.

The exact same colors.
The exact same message.

Would you even notice one of them?

Probably not.

That's what's happening on Facebook right now.

Everyone discovered AI. Everyone started making flyers.
And now every flyer looks like it was made by the same robot.

The problem isn't that AI is bad.

The problem is that everyone is using AI the same way.

People ask:

"Make me a landscaping flyer."

And ChatGPT gives them exactly what everyone else got.

Generic prompt.
Generic result.
Generic engagement.
Generic sales.

The businesses winning right now aren't creating better flyers.

They're creating more attention.

More personality.
More curiosity.
More reasons for people to stop scrolling.

Because attention comes first.

Sales come second.

If your post can't stop the scroll...

Your offer never gets a chance.

"I have a website, but I'm still not getting any clients."

If you've ever thought this, you're not alone.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that business owners think getting a website automatically means getting customers.

Unfortunately, that's not how it works.

Imagine opening a shop tomorrow.

You spend money on the building.

The signage looks fantastic.

Everything inside is neat and professional.

Then you build it 50km outside of town and don't tell anyone where it is.

How many customers are going to walk through the door?

Probably none.

That's exactly what happens with a lot of websites.

The website gets built.

The business owner pays the invoice.

And then they sit back waiting for enquiries that never come.

Not because the website is bad.

Because nobody is being sent to it.

A website needs traffic before it can generate leads.

That traffic can come from:

• Google searches (SEO)
• Google Ads
• Facebook & Instagram Ads
• Social media content
• Email marketing
• Referrals

Your website's job is not to magically create customers.

Its job is to turn visitors into customers once they arrive.

Unfortunately, a lot of people sell websites without ever explaining this part.

So business owners end up disappointed and wondering why their investment isn't paying off.

Over the next few posts, I'll explain some of the different ways businesses can get people to their websites and how each one works.

We'll start with SEO.

"I've never gotten a single client from my website."

I heard that again today.

I was on a call with a business owner and we started talking about his website.

I asked him to send me the link.

The website wouldn't load.

So I Googled the business name.

Nothing.

I searched for their business profile.

Still nothing.

The guy has been paying for that website for over a year.

And as far as I could tell, it wasn't even online.

The scary part is that this isn't the first time I've seen this.

I've spoken to business owners who paid R10,000, R15,000, even R20,000 for websites that stopped working a few days later.

Some disappeared completely.

Some were never connected properly.

Some were impossible to find on Google.

The business owner assumes everything is working.

The developer assumes nobody will check.

And months later they're left wondering why the website never brought in any customers.

Most business owners aren't web developers.

They shouldn't have to be.

But if you're paying for a website, you should at least know whether it's doing its job.

So let's do something about it.

Drop your website in the comments below.

I'll spend a few minutes reviewing it and tell you:

• Whether I can find it on Google
• Whether it works properly on mobile
• Whether there are any obvious SEO issues
• Whether there are any obvious conversion issues
• Whether there is anything stopping potential customers from contacting you

No sales pitch.

No obligation.

Just honest feedback.

Because based on the conversations I've had recently, a lot of business owners are paying for websites they've never actually had checked.

Heavy rain all week.

For most cleaning businesses that means cancellations, reschedules, and a dead phone.

My client texted me this Tuesday after our Google Ads campaign kept bringing in work anyway.

2 jobs today.
2 tomorrow.

And one of those jobs was worth R2400.

This is why relying only on referrals is risky.

Your pipeline should still work when conditions aren’t perfect.

That’s what we’re building. 📈

11/05/2026

Winter is coming in South Africa and most cleaning businesses are already feeling it. Phones getting quieter. Weeks getting thinner. That slow season dread setting in.

My client is having his busiest streak in a while.

Week 1: 2 booked jobs.
Week 2: 3 booked jobs.
Week 3: 6 booked jobs, one cancelled last minute, still walked away with 5.

During what should be his slow season where previously it was 1 or 0 booked jobs per week.

What I built is a Google Ads system that finds the people already searching for a cleaning service right now, today, and puts him in front of them before anyone else gets the chance. No guessing. No hoping. Just consistent booked jobs landing while the rest of his industry sits on their hands waiting for spring.

The ads are still new and the numbers are already climbing week on week. That's what a properly built system does. It doesn't wait for the right season. It works in any season.

His calendar is filling up while others in his space are watching theirs empty out.

If you run a local service business and you want that same consistency, send me a message and let's see what's possible. 👇
