Sonar Studios had the privilege of working in-studio with ⭐ Natalie Dormer and collaborating on Audrey’s Children, a critically acclaimed film. Directed by Ami Canaan Mann and written by Julia Fisher Farbman, this inspiring true story follows Dr. Audrey Evans, a pioneering British physician who revolutionized pediatric cancer treatment. Her relentless dedication led to groundbreaking advancements and the founding of the first Ronald McDonald House, offering support to countless children and families worldwide.

We had the absolute privilege of working on Gonzo Girl, directed by the incredible Patricia Arquette. A true career highlight was spending days in the studio with Patricia and the legendary Willem Dafoe—diving deep into the raw process of creativity.

Nothing beats having the time to experiment, be present, and explore what unfolds organically. It’s in those moments that the magic happens. ✨

New work for GRID Worldwide & FNB 🇿🇦

We were briefed to compose a beautiful and emotive track that starts off with a slightly uneasy feeling and then evolves into being optimistic. The heartbeat provides the rhythmical backbone to the composition, and we had the idea to use a piano note in the key of the song as a musical device to mimic the sound of a heart rate monitor, which ties the music to the concept intrinsically.

Grid provides some context to the campaign as a whole: 'As part of FNB’s Invest and Insure extension, we created a compelling campaign to demonstrate the anxiety that comes with not having your financial matters under control, especially when it comes to planning for your family’s future – a human truth that affects us all. Our content series serves to inspire people to take control of their finances and feel empowered with FNB’s innovative offerings.'"

Sonar is an award-winning audio post production and music composition studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. We’re specialists in sound design, final mix and the creation of bespoke original music for film, tv, radio, animations, video games & branded content. We believe in the intrinsic ability of sound and music to invoke and heighten emotion and this belief is central to our approach.
