Looking at this article that Daniela Bascelli contributed to, 13 years ago, talking about the pitfalls of social networking at work. It was one of her first newspaper publications with IOL Online and The Daily in Durban. So? ...🤓Keep an eye out for the "2025 Update about the Pitfalls of Social Networking" coming out soon with a lot of useful information you can learn and apply.

For interest, the original article mentioned here came about on the back of suspensions of Hawks spokesman McIntosh Polela and e.tv sports anchor Lance Witten over inappropriate tweets they had made on their personal accounts which raised questions about expressing oneself freely on social media whilst employed at an employer.

Some of the basics remain the same 13 years later however there are changes and in a nutshell, whatever you say online should not interfere or redirect others away from your employers’ core business or cause negative PR to them.
