Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, who is currently standing trial at Kgosi Mampuru Maximum Prison, has drawn public attention for his consistent use of luxury fashion during his court appearances. Matlala has been seen wearing high-end brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and Burberry each time he appears before the court.

During a recent Parliament ad hoc committee enquiry, Matlala stated that he once withdrew approximately R500 000 in cash from FNB and transported the money using a Woolworths shopping bag which he calls the ‘Money Bag’. He also told the committee that he prefers travelling in a convoy of BMW vehicles.
