Spanner Athletes Shine at Vaalrivier Athletics Championships

A huge congratulations to all athletes who participated in the Vaalrivier Athletics Championships 2025! HTS Sasolburg – Spanner Athletics proudly had 113 athletes competing, and the results were nothing short of impressive.Out of our dedicated athletes, 40 qualified for the Fezile Dabi Athletics Meeting. The championships saw remarkable performances with:14 first-place finishes

6 third-place finishesSpanner athletes Achievements Additionally, 4 HTS Sasolburg athletes earned spots in the top 50 achievements at the event, showcasing their dedication and skill.The standout moment of the competition came from Peroni Lephuthing, who competed in the 1500m boys U/16 event. Peroni’s incredible time of 04:06.15 not only secured him a victory in his category, but it was also faster than both the boys U/17 and U/19 winning times. The communication also included a directive from the Department of Human Settlements, instructing the municipality to immediately suspend all development activities. This halt is in place until the necessary compliance measures, as outlined by the tribunal, are fully met.
