It's game up for Xhosa trap and hip-hop, and the internet is buzzing!🥶🧐🇿🇦🗞️
Three prominent Xhosa rappers, iFani, Soul T, and Bhut'Legend, have taken to social media to express their feelings against each other, revealing a tension between them that seems to have been brewing after some collabs which were meant to happen.
The issue began when iFani known for his hit song "Ingoma Ezimnandi," asked his fans to recommend artists to feature on his upcoming 3rd Quadrant Album. Some fans suggested Soul T, the "IDYAN" hitmaker. However, iFani responded by stating that he would never feature Soul T on his album, citing past misunderstandings during their collaborations.
The root of the problem lies in Soul T's decision to remove iFani's verse from his hit song "IDyan Re-make." Soul T had asked iFani to change some lyrics that referenced the late AKA, as Yanga Chief who is also featured on the remix, might not like them. iFani refused to alter his verse arguing that it would be censorship in a free country, and subsequently, his verse was cut off.
Despite claiming to have no problem or beef with Soul T, iFani stated that he wouldn't feature him on his album. Soul T responded by posting on his personal Facebook account, expressing that he had lost respect for some of his peers and no longer had role models in the industry.
Bhut'Legend, the "AYO QHIYA YI DURAG" hitmaker, also took to social media, stating that fans shouldn't mention his name in iFani's posts since they don't know each other. He shared a screenshot of a conversation where they were meant to collaborate, but after discovering that iFani had disrespected someone close to him, he inherited the beef. Bhut'Legend declared that he would never bow to iFani, regardless of his contributions to Xhosa rap.
