Mbombela, July 22, 2025 - In a statement delivered to the Mpumalanga Legislature today, DA MPL Trudie Grovรจ-Morgan sharply criticised the Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs' (DARDLEA) 2025/26 budget of R1.6 billion, accusing the department of "deliberate misinformation" and a pattern of unfulfilled promises.

Grovรจ-Morgan, in her capacity as a Democratic Alliance Member of the Provincial Legislature, expressed concerns about the department's allocation, particularly highlighting the stalled Mpumalanga International Fresh Produce Market and the misrepresented status of the Mkhondo Agri-Hub.

SAAI - Parliamentary Report on Farm Safety

Shortly after the disagreement on the Parliamentary report on Farm Safety between the DA and the VF+, SAAI released the statement below

The report on farm safety presented before Parliament marks a significant breakthrough in acknowledging one of agricultureโ€™s greatest challenges.

However, it still falls short and is out of touch with the realities that farmers face on the ground every day. In the contentious parliamentary debate surrounding the report, Saai will not side with the Freedom Front Plus (FF+) or the Democratic Alliance (DA), butโ€”as true to our callingโ€”will articulate the voice of the farmers.

Trichardt - Round Table Secunda 231 collected an amazing 1300 blankets for charity!

๐Ÿ”ฅ Blankets, Beats & Big Hearts โ€“ Warmfees 2025 Wrap-Up ๐Ÿ”ฅ

On 11 & 12 July 2025, the heart of the Govern Mbeki area came alive as Round Table Secunda 231 teamed up with the 41ers Secunda Round Table for their beloved annual project Warmfees in partnership with Martin Bester and his band from Jacaranda FM.

This wasn't just any jol. Warmfees brought the community together with a mission; warm bodies, full hearts, and unforgettable vibes.

๐ŸŽŸ Entry = 1 Blanket per Person per Day
Over two days, the community showed up in full force and donated a phenomenal ยฑ1,300 blankets. These will be distributed within the Govan Mbeki area over the next few days, a reminder that small actions, when multiplied, make a massive difference.

๐ŸŽค The music line-up lit up the stage with top-tier talent:

Martin Bester & Band

Loufi

Scallywag

Altus Theart

Zaan Sonnekus

Mauritzka Delport

๐Ÿ” Festival-goers browsed through stalls selling everything from food to fashion, toys to handmade crafts.
๐Ÿง’ The kiddies' play area was free and full of laughs.
๐Ÿป Thirsty? The lekker watergat had everyone sorted with various ice-cold refreshments.

๐Ÿฒ Warmfees proudly hosted its first-ever Potjiekos Competition and judging by the turnout (and aromas), it wonโ€™t be the last! Big congrats to the winner.
๐Ÿš— As tradition holds, the Car Sound and Show & Shine competitions brought the noise and the shine, well done to all the winners!

A massive thank you to our Six major sponsors:

Safety Horizon Services

Sotran trading

Laerskool Trichardt

DP Enterprise

Top Fix

HJL Auto Wares

To all the other sponsors and partners, your support made Warmfees the success it was. We truly couldn't have done it without you.

๐Ÿ’ฅ In July 2026, Warmfees returns for its 4th year, and we're setting our sights high: 2,000+ blankets!
With the same spirit and community backing, thereโ€™s no doubt weโ€™ll smash that goal.

Until next time โ€“ stay warm, stay kind, and stay ready.
Warmfees is more than a festival. Itโ€™s a movement.

Secunda - UPDATES ON INTERRUPTION OF WATER SUPPLY IN SECUNDA

The replacement of a water valve in Secunda has been completed.

Water has been opened in the last 30 minutes and the system is still pressurising as it has been empty for a prolonged period.

Most areas at the low point will be receiving water supply from now on.

It is going to take a few hours for the system to fill up more, especially with the high laying areas.

The municipality urges members of the community to exercise patience until normal supply is achieved.

The municipality also extended its gratitude to members of the community who, while frustrated, were cooperating while the technical teams were replacing the valve.

The water team is monitoring the situation, and more updates will be provided.
