A 26-YEAR-OLD WOMAN MURDERED, SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CAROLINA

A 26-year-old woman was murdered and a 42-year-old male suspect has been arrested today, 13 November 2025, at Sihlakwane Village , Groblersdal in Limpopo.

On Thursday, 06 November 2025, a missing person’s inquiry was opened at Carolina Police Station after the disappearance of Miss Nokuhle Lethukuthula Malaza (26). According to police reports, she was last seen in the company of her 42-year-old male friend at Kromkrans Village on Saturday, 01 November 2025. The two were reportedly seen leaving a local tavern together, but since that evening, the woman never returned home, while the male friend was seen back in the area alone.

Family members and community members from Kromkrans demanded answers from the man regarding Nokuhle’s whereabouts. The suspect allegedly fled the area and went to hide at his sister’s house in Sikhululile Village, Mafube Section, Arnot.

Preliminary investigations by Carolina detectives led them to Arnot, where they were informed that the suspect had been taken to Middelburg Hospital. On Monday, 10 November 2025, the police proceeded to the hospital, where they were told that the suspect had been transferred to Witbank Hospital for specialist treatment. Detectives left their contact details with the hospital for follow-up once he was available for questioning as a person of interest.

On Wednesday, 12 November 2025, members of the Kromkrans community blocked the roads, demanding the suspect’s arrest. Carolina SAPS management urged the community to remain calm, assuring them that the investigation was progressing.

Police later returned to Middelburg Hospital and learned that the suspect had been discharged the previous day. They proceeded to his sister’s residence but did not find him there. However, a vehicle allegedly used during the woman’s disappearance was impounded for further investigation. Attempts to contact him on his cellphone were unsuccessful.

A multidisciplinary investigation team comprising members from Carolina, Badplaas, and Chrissiesmeer SAPS was established. Through forensic and intelligence-driven operations, the team traced the suspect to Sihlakwane Village in Groblersdal, Limpopo. With the assistance of Hlogotlou and Groblersdal SAPS members, information was gathered indicating that the suspect was en route to Monsterlus. The team proceeded there and found him with his luggage, waiting for transport. He was immediately arrested and transported back to Carolina SAPS.

During questioning, the suspect allegedly stated that he assaulted his girlfriend with a beer bottle and left her unconscious. A pointing-out was conducted, during which the suspect led police to a bushy area on a farm between Chrissiesmeer and Carolina. There, police discovered the naked and decomposed body of the deceased.

All relevant role players attended the scene, and the next of kin were notified. The suspect is expected to appear before the Chief Albert Luthuli Magistrate’s Court on 17 November 2025, facing a charge of murder.

SUSPECTS SOUGHT FOR THE MURDER OF A 7-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN DELMAS

Police in Delmas are searching for suspect(s) after a seven-year-old girl was found murdered today, 12 November 2025, in Delpark Extension 2, Delmas.

According to police reports, Ms. Ayanda Ngwenyama, the mother of the deceased, approached the Delmas Police Station on 11 November 2025 to report that her seven-year-old daughter, Thandolwethu Mahlangu, had gone missing on 10 November 2025 at around 18h00. It is alleged that the child went to her father’s house and did not return home. Members of the community joined in the search throughout the night but were unsuccessful in finding her.

At around 07h00 the following morning, Ms. Ngwenyama received a text message from an unknown number demanding R30 000, allegedly owed by the child’s father, in exchange for the child’s safety.

A missing person inquiry was opened, and all relevant role players were informed. Preliminary investigations traced the cellphone number used by the kidnappers to the Botleng area. Loan sharks in the vicinity were brought in for questioning, and several addresses linked to the investigation were visited, but with no success.

This morning, 12 November 2025, at about 07h30, the child was found deceased in Delpark Extension 2. Her body was discovered by a neighbour who was cleaning his yard when he noticed small legs protruding from underneath rubble behind a shack. All relevant authorities were immediately informed and attended the scene.

The suspects remain unknown at this stage, and a murder case has been opened.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist in the investigation to contact the branch commander, Lieutenant Colonel Victor Dibakoane, on 079 268 0040, or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be submitted via the MySAPS App. All information will be treated with strict confidentiality, and callers may remain anonymous.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General Dr. Zeph Mkhwanazi, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of the young girl and has activated a 72-hour plan to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book. “People have lost their sense of humanity. How can anyone kill an innocent young girl who had her whole future ahead of her? We will not rest until the suspect(s) are behind bars,” said Major General Mkhwanazi.

[BREAKING NEWS]

SECURITY GUARD SENTENCED TO 7-YEARS FOR MURDER OF A MENTALLY UNSTABLE PERSON

Gerharndus Reghard Elmes (20), who worked for a local security company in Secunda, appeared before the Evander Magistrates’ court on today 12 November 2025 for his sentencing.

He head found guilty of murder on the 15th of September 2025

The court heard that on the 23rd of November 2023, the security guard received a call about a possible break-in. When he arrived on the streets, he spotted the deceased with the same description from the callout.

The accused’s version was that they started chasing the deceased, shooting him with paintball guns. When they eventually cornered him, he started throwing stones at them; therefore, they shot at him. He could not fire a warning shot as he was in a residential area.

Two witnesses who observed the scene from different angles both testified that the deceased looked terrified trying to get away from the accused. He then started throwing stones at the accused. The court found the witness’s testimony to be credible and reliable.

During judgment the court rejected the accused’s version that he acted in self-defence, shooting at someone five times whilst he had the backup of two security officers 20 meters behind him. The court also found it strange that in the video footage from the security vehicle, it does not show where they started following the deceased. The court also found it questionable that the accused was laughing hysterically, speaking to the deceased as he alighted from the vehicle before shooting at the deceased.

The court concluded that the deceased was scared of the paintball shooting and tried to run away from the accused. It also found the accused to be the aggressor in the situation.

He has been sentenced to 7-years direct imprisonment.

The defence is currently presenting an appeal before the court.
