Police in Val are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the family of an unknown young male who was found deceased on Sunday, 03 August 2025, at approximately 16h00.

According to information received, a community member discovered the lifeless body of an unknown African male lying in the grass near the railway road.

Police were summoned to the scene and, upon arrival, found the body of a male believed to be a teenager. He had an abrasion on his face and was dressed in navy Sasol overall trousers and a black and maroon jersey. All relevant role players attended the scene, and an inquest docket has since been opened.

Police are urging anyone who may have information that could assist in identifying the deceased or locating his family to contact Detective Sergeant Sibusiso Chili on 082 462 1536 or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be submitted via the MySAPS app. All details will be treated with strict confidentiality, and callers may remain anonymous.

Rapper and songwriter Tlotliso Tsolo (35), better known by his stage name Gun Fu, was born in Lesotho and raised in South Africa at Standerton, Thuthukani. Tsolo is excited after he released his new single titled ‘Savage’ on Tuesday, 29 July 2025.

According to Tsolo, the single is a bold statement of growth, pain, and power, a sound of survival and self-belief.

ACCIDENT ON THE R29 IN KINROSS CLAIMS LIFE

An accident occurred this morning involving a Kia Rio and a Toyota Corolla at about 07h30 on the R29 in Kinross between Brazilian turn-off and police station turn-off.

The vehicles collided head on, it is alleged one vehicle was overtaking.

One driver has been declared deceased at the scene of the accident meanwhile the other driver has been transferred to the hospital.

The scene is currently active and the road is closed, traffic officials are currently directing traffic in alternative routes.

All role players are currently at the scene.

Three accused, Riaz Moolla (42), Fatima Moolla (62) and Suliman Ismail Moolla (67) case was withdrawn from Evander Regional Court on personal capacity, but the company, Uptown Superstore Store was fined R600 000.00 on condition that the company also contribute to the community by purchasing 504 durable quality double seater desks for four schools in Highveld Ridge Circuit High Schools.

The company was given three months to comply with the court judgment.

The sentence comes after the company is accused of dealing with counterfeit ci******es. The total of 4710 packets of illicit ci******es valued at R107 700 were seized from their business.

During the seizure on 09 September 2024, 42-year Riaz Moolla was arrested by the Hawks Secunda based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation after the warrant of arrest against him was issued by the court. He was released on bail.

On 17 July 2025, another warrant of arrest against Fatima and Suliman was executed. They were also warned to appear before court alongside Riaz on 29 July 2025 for trial.

The company director Suliman entered into a plea agreement, and the matter was rolled over to Wednesday, 30 July 2025.

The Moollas charges were withdrawn in their personal capacity, and the company was fined R600 000.00 and ordered to provide community support by purchasing 504 durable quality two-seater desks for the four schools. The company was sentenced for Contravention of the To***co Products Act, Contravention of Customs and Excise Act, and Contravention of Value Added Tax Act.

The Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Major General Nico Ge**er commended the investigation team, National Prosecuting Authority, and the judiciary for the hard work “It is an interesting sentence. Criminals are again out of pocket due to their crimes. The community is benefiting from this sentence, and it will definitely assist the next generation in their needs for a better education,” added the General.

The company was given three months to comply with the court judgment.

An intelligence-driven operation conducted by Standerton Crime Intelligence in collaboration with Standerton K9, Charl Cilliers Vispol and Detectives members, Car Tracker, Kasselman Security, and the local farmers led to the arrests of two suspects on Tuesday, 29 July 2025, at Springbokkuil Farm near Charl Cilliers for theft.

According to the police report, information was received regarding the duo, aged 29 and 31, who were allegedly loading maize in a truck.

An operation was executed, members proceeded to the said address, and upon arrival at the farm, the suspects were caught in the action, loading the maize with an estimated value of R1 500 000.00. It is further said that when the suspects saw the police, the driver fled to the field but was eventually caught and apprehended.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the other suspect is apparently an employee at the farm working as an operator.

The duo were arrested and are currently detained at Charlie Cilliers Saps. They are expected to appear before the Secunda Magistrate’s Court today, 31 July 2025, facing the said charge.
