Police in Vaalbank are appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating Lethabo Cleopatra Matjeke (17), who resides in Allemansdrift C. She has been missing since 19 June 2025.

According to the information received, Lethabo was last seen approximately at 20:00, reportedly on her way to visit a friend.

Is it further alleged that on Saturday, 21 June 2025, the victim called her mother and informed her that she is in Mbombela however the call was disconnected.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black tracksuit, white T shirt, and white all-star sneakers.

Anyone with information that could assist in locating her, is urged to contact Vaalbank SAPS on 013 947 6192 or investigative officer Sergeant George Phahla on 072 751 2629.

Alternatively, members of the public may contact the SAPS Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or submit information via the MySAPSApp.

A new political party is emerging: the AmaNdebele Akavuke Party, founded by Strike Sokosi Chili Mahlangu from Maphotla. Mahlangu, known for organizing Vuka Ndebele festivals in the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality, Mpumalanga, reveals that the party, registered with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), aims to expedite land restoration to indigenous leaders and communities.

The party's objectives include preserving and developing culture, reviving heritage sites like the KwaNdebele national show, protecting indigenous languages such as IsiNdebele, and promoting traditional religions to counter harmful influences.

Mahlangu plans to launch the party on July 20, 2025, at Maphotla, where he will assume the role of Acting President. The party will establish branches in various municipalities, with members nominating leaders for positions, including Mahlangu himself, who intends to contest for leadership.

The party's constitution is open to contributions from members, and Mahlangu aims to participate in the 2026 local elections and the 2029 national elections. He is prepared to fund the party personally but invites interested members to contribute financially. Due to ongoing court cases, Mahlangu seeks support from like-minded individuals. Vergenoeg Mine Helps Local Schools

Vergenoeg Mine is working to improve the lives of people in DR JS MOROKA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
Recently, the mine donated science lab equipment to five local schools:
DIGWALE,
SIVUMELENE,
RAHLAHANA,
SEABE,
and KHAMANE Secondary Schools.

The mine wants to help students do better in math and science

It hopes that by providing this equipment, students will be inspired to pursue careers in these fields

The mine also offers scholarships to students who want to work in the mining industry

Mr. L Ngobe, from Vergenoeg Mine, said, "We want to help students become engineers, water specialists, and other professionals who can improve our community's infrastructure."

The Executive Mayor, Cllr NS Mtsweni, thanked the mine for its support

He encouraged the schools to take good care of the equipment and to use it to improve their students' results

Everyone involved is grateful for the mine's donation and looks forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the community
