We can confirm that we have managed to raise the funds to pay for all 28 flight tickets and with the assistance of TAAG have managed to secure seats on flights within the next few days. Everyone will be home by the end of the week.

Thank you to everyone that has assisted in making this possible. I will be sharing more details at a later stage to also share a special thanks to everybody 🙏

Just note that the team is still in Lisbon and will still need help with food and daily things. For those in Lisbon who are still willing to reach out and help, please continue to do so ❤️

Good morning, the situation with the soccer team stranded in Lisbon, Portugal is still the most important thing for us to get sorted.

Just reminder, it’s a group of 28:
25 children between the ages of 13 - 18 and 3 coaches.

These coaches are doing whatever they can to keep the morale of the children high, they’ve been paying for food out of their pockets. Some children are meant to be leaving, the but the academy owner keeps making empty promises and is now not even talking to two of the coaches.

Travel agent, Melisha, from Travel Direct has offered her services and for transparency, we are asking that all donations be made into her account for these flights.

My fear is so great, knowing that even in such a tough trying time, that scammers will try to create a flyers too and you might pay into the wrong account, so please only transfer into this account on the flyer or message me to double check first. 🙏

I was made aware of this situation this morning. I’m hoping to chat to one of the coaches asap to get more insight and to understand the how, what, where, etc. we need to get these children back home!

As per Captured Sporting Moments who has been integral in getting this situation out there. Gayton has responded to say he Is looking into it but again we can't blame this on govt but the owner of that football academy must be found to answer.

LATEST: Cape Town Based Kids Stranded in Spain after tour company owner has gone AWOL ‼️‼️‼️

What we know thus far:

▪️Tour Operator/Company: BT Football
▪️It’s alleged that the owner is not speaking to some of the coaches on the ground. As per reports and first hand information, The owner owe one of the coaches huge amount of money after he (coach) had to fork out money from his personal accounts to feed and accommodate these kids

▪️It’s reported that there’s 20 boys, 5 girls and 3 coaches stranded in Europe

▪️They were given few days ago instructions to travel to Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹. The accommodation chased them out after they didn’t pay. They came together and left for the airport to seek for shelter as outside in Spain, it was extremely hot (30-40 degrees).

▪️I’ve received confirmation of their arrival in Lisbon, Portugal this morning and they’re currently getting the kids beverages (monies from their own pocket)
- MASSIVE RESPECT TO THESE COACHES!! Soon they will come out live and speak out! 🫶

🔺It’s alleged that the owner apparently told them that he’s going to try and book accommodation today and get 9 kids on a flight to South Africa.

🔺 According to the coaches, they took a train last week and seeked for assistance from the SA embassy in spain. They were turned around and told, they can’t assist them. Some of the travelers visas expired. However the SA Embassy can only assist them with expired visas but not with flights.

↘️ The question is what happens to the rest?
↘️ The question what is the actual plan?
↘️ Where is the return ticket?
↘️ How did they obtain a visa if they were suppose to submit a valid return ticket as part of their visa application?
‼️ Their travel insurance (which is also a requirement for the VISA), what does it say when it comes toGayton MckenzieeliDepartment of International Relations and Cooperation, SAkids have to return to their respective schools!
‼️WE NEED THE KIDS TO RETURN TO SA! The government of needs to come out and assist these boys, girls and coaches URGENTLY!!!
‼️These boys, girls and coaches been waiting for days, if not weeks for the owner to assist them!

Also, it’s important for parents to now speak out to put more pressure on the Government of South Africa 🇿🇦

What a month. What a week. What. A. Day!!! ❤️

Today marked the incredible culmination of Tracey Lange Cares 2025 and my heart is overflowing.

Thousands, yes - THOUSANDS of items were handed over, proof that when the people of the Western Cape come together, magic happens. 🫶🏽

From every corner of the province, TLC party members gathered donations for their chosen NGOs, all with one goal: to make the Cape warm again this winter. And today, on Mandela Day, the crew went the extra mile (LITERALLY!) travelling hundreds of kilometres to help distribute these items and bring the warmth to those who need it most.

We wrapped it all up with a powerful live TLC broadcast from , a reminder of the real heart of our community.

Thank you to every single person who gave, shared, packed, drove, and cared. 💫 You reminded us what 67 minutes (and so much more) can really do!
