In a world that moves fast and often forgets its values,
there are principles that, if lost, we lose with them.
From here, the philosophy of Ubuntu was born.
What is Ubuntu?
Ubuntu is not just a word or a slogan.
It is an ancient African philosophy that means:
โ€œI am human because we are human.โ€
I am because we are.
This philosophy was passed down through generations
and spoken about by leaders, thinkers, and peacemakers,
most notably Nelson Mandela
and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Ubuntu through Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela believed that under Ubuntu:
A person does not succeed alone.
Strength comes from community,
and dignity comes from respecting others.
Mandela used Ubuntu as a foundation for reconciliation
after years of division,
proving that true power is not dominance, but inclusion.
Ubuntu in the words of Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Archbishop Desmond Tutu often said:
A person with Ubuntu knows
that their dignity is bound to the dignity of others.
This is the core of the idea:
No road belongs to one person,
and no rider is above another.
From philosophy to the road
Over time, Ubuntu left books and speeches
and moved to the streetsโ€ฆ
to the open road.
That is how Africa Ubuntu Bikers Run was born,
as a true translation of the philosophy:
Riders from different countries
Different cultures and languages
One road
One respect
One shared spirit
Why motorcycles?
Because riding teaches:
Responsibility
Awareness
Respect for those beside you
A true rider knows that the road does not tolerate:

Recklessness
Or domination
And that is Ubuntu in motion.
10 years of a living message
Africa Ubuntu Bikers Run started as an idea
and grew into a Pan-African movement,
with riders from: South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast
and now Egypt,
along with participants from outside Africa.
On January 30, 2026,
we celebrate the 10th Anniversaryโ€”
not a celebration of numbers,
but a celebration of commitment to the idea.
Egypt and Ubuntu
Egypt has always been the heart of Africa,
a meeting point of civilizations
and shared paths.
Hosting this event is no coincidence.
It reflects that the Egyptian motorcycle community
has become part of something greaterโ€”
not local,
but African, human, and global.
